Damn. Hopefully that was a reactionary comment due to how poorly his hitting was.

So Garza clearly has a power bat, what’s the word on him average/OBP wise?

Maybe see Dugas get a shot there as well.

I could see Dugas getting a lot of AB's. He has a lot of raw talent. Hopefully he catches on quick.

Who is the early favorite for weekday starter? Labas or Gilbert?

I actually like Hilliard in long middle relief.

If I'm remembering correctly, everyone was shitting on Pap early part of the season because he was hitting like .190 something. I'm generally pretty good about not calling out players. Sure we all say stupid shite in game threads in the heat of the moment. Don't ever remember calling out Pap specifically but doesn't mean I didn't. That was 2 fricking years ago

It was the TCU thread. Not long after, you were calling for PM’s head. The team turned things around, and you started to pretend to be PM’s biggest defender. It was quite on-brand for a rantard.

At the end of the day non conf is the best time to go through a slump

Would rather someone get hot for SEC play and regionals over some gaudy stats put up during non conf play.

It's what Pap did that year and was a big part of the run to the finals. Plus you could live with Pap's defense behind the plate no matter what he did offensively because his backups were not even close defensively

ok I just looked at what I said in the TCU thread and honestly wasn't that bad. Apparently Pap had an awful day and so did Lange I think I said "paul maineiri needs to figure this shite out quick" during a Non conference game and you have referenced that quite a bit.

Oh well, it's 2019 and we riding

Haha ... shite ... I said in a basketball game thread that I love Will Wade, but that he needed to get the offense fixed before conference play began and some jackass accused me of doubting the basketball team and being negative. Can't ever underestimate the Rant's need to turn people into "haters."

The only problem with it is some uneducated football mentality posters on here is they usually latch on the first thing they see and never get over an early season slump.

Pap never got credit on this site for being lights out every postseason he was at LSU. He just wasn’t very good early in the year.

Took Kramer almost a full year of playing outstanding shortstop before people finally came around on him being really good. I remember watching him make tough play after tough play and people complaining about he didn’t have enough “range” and was just trying to look pretty out there. I was like man we have been spoiled at SS if y’all think Kramer is a bad one. Now this was coming off of a string of Lemahieu, Nola, Bregman for 8 years.

He's going to back up Broussard and yes he's creating some competition. (Always a good thing)

Jaden Hill right now.

like where he's at. He gives Cabrera some protection.
this. Cabrera will be a buzz saw this year. We have to punish those that try to pitch around him

Garza must be hitting damn well right now if he’s in the three hole with cabrera behind him.

Very interested to see Garza if he starts opening day in the 3 hole as a freshman for the #1 ranked team in the country.
