When do we see a 7 foot WR in the NFL?

I think this will be very common within 10 years. Or even 6’9 and above? A 7 foot possession receiver or Red Zone target. Blazing speed isn’t necessary at that size but some of the athletes of this size are very nimble and fast. I know there have been some around that size, like that 6’10 OT for the Steelers, who played WR at Army. But a WR for Army is pretty much useless. I understand that someone that height and is athletic enough to be a WR fits basketball way better and is a tougher sport.
A physical freak the size and athleticism of Anthony Davis would be very intriguing to me. LeBron and Zion Williamson come to mind but I could see Zion being better in another position rather than a WR.
I’m just curious to what others opinions are on this.
ETA: not these exact players but the kids that are physicall gifted and their height will one day pick football over basketball.

Chandler Parsons makes like $7mil more than AB. Why would these guys take less money to play a more dangerous sport?

Harold Carmichael was 6-9.

Meh. I rather see Air Bud: Golden Receiver

Probably sucks at running routes, can’t block since he’s too tall, change of direction is harder. Slow release and separation. Can’t run reverses or jet sweeps. Returning punts/kicks out of the question. No thanks and Give me Tyreek Hill.

Someone will definitely give it a shot in the near future.

Their legs would be chopped in half before preseason finished

More likely to be a tight end than a receiver.

7 foot TE is the best we'll get.

Good post stupid that you're being downvoted.

With the way that DB's are tackling they wouldn't have an ACL after the 2nd year in college.

Yeah and he sucked bigtime at WR. Never seen a WR run so slowly. You do need to be fast because the DL is rushing while your big slow WR is running his route.

Harold Carmichael was a badass.

the few guys who are athletic/coordinated enough to do this well play in the NBA, make more money, work less, and get hurt far less often

Army had one in football a few years ago. Switched position and plays starting OT for Steelers now. He fit very well in that Army system. Not like they can run complex passing routes.

a few years back Memphis rolled out like 2 or 3, 6-7+ WRs
they were dogshit terrible
i think that's back when Larry Porter was coaching them

Or they play different positions in football. Margus Hunt has one of the most unique athletic profiles in the world and is of a similar size as to what to the OP is talking about, and he is a DT.
The tallest receivers you will see in the NFL are the Gates/Graham types who are NBA tweeners and not skilled enough to be small forwards.
And most guys who are 6’7” and 275 will bulk up 40 pounds and be left tackles.

Because AB makes a lot more money than Jermareo Davidson and Johnny O’Bryant. Believe it or not, most 6’9” and taller human beings never make it to the NBA. It certainly increases your odds, but there’s a lot of competition around the globe for those spots.

A 7 foot TE would be deadly.
