Unlike many things in the NCAA, this one is pretty straightforward.

If you play than more than 1 sport, the scholarship counter goes to the highest grossing revenue sport.

NCAA doesn't care where the money actually comes from- it just counts against that sport. For us that's football.

Even though the player might not actually receive a football scholarship, as far as NCAA numbers go, they do. The ONLY way a football plus another sport athlete can play both and not count against the football numbers is to not receive ANY scholarship money.

That's not what the OP is asking, though. He's asking if you can use a baseball letter of intent to hold a player until he gets to school and receives a football scholarship.

I could see it possibly working if you don't sign a 25th player in football.
