And as we both said in the game thread, a 10 point win with film to learn off of is what good coaches are looking for.

100%. First, with NET rankings anything over 10 doesn’t matter anyways... and it allows Wade to refocus the team after having an extended stretch of success

Wade should be pissed if they play the same going forward and not improving on defense they will get smacked. Just always coaching.

Okay anilingus aside, this concerns me a little bit.

Reacting so negatively after wins could hurt team morale.

LSU controlled this game from early on, and it never felt like UGA was going to have any chance of actually winning.

Watching Coach Wade in this press conference gives you the feeling that he understands what needs to be done and will make sure the problems are corrected. I wish Orgeron would admit the deficiencies of the football team and do what needs to be done to correct the problems by hiring a real OC. Will Wade reminds me of Nick Saban when he was the head football coach at LSU. He has a plan and will do what it takes to implement.

Sorry about our debate last night. We’re on the same side and it’s obvious you’re a passionate and intelligent basketball guy. I actually think we were seeing 2 sides of the same thought process. I read some more of your thoughts about the game last night and you were spot on. You have a good handle on the abilities and roles of the team as well as the other teams in the conference. I’ve been following LSU hoops for about 40 years but I’m not informed about the rest of the SEC presently. I appreciate your input on the team.

hey, we don't need another Pokey Chatman scene (she coaches in the WNBA fwiw).

That would never fly in NCAAM nor the NBA.

He should have been, defense...especially in the second have was atrocious. They were victimizing us on the same baseline back door over and over....very disappointing.

Now certainly there's enough blame to go around, and I'm not singling him out by any means, but KBW can be a matchup problem with teams that stretch the floor or have a big with skills.

He excels when there is a low post player that is limited and anchored in the post, that way he can plant himself in the middle and effect the other teams game significantly. But he can be effectively exposed by teams that spread us out. Kind of like Mickey, he is not a great on man defender and gets a lot blocks on help side.

It seems as if the players slow play down (effort) between the 6 and 8 min mark (left) in each game.

Wade has also said this...sometimes in Offense, some in D.

Yes and no. I can see how it appeared we controlled the game fairly easily and turned back every Ga threat but a lot of that in their late runs was a direct result of Waters just taking over and willing us to victory. That’s not a great team strategy but it’s awesome to have a guy that at times can do that. Without Waters domination last night- that game could have ended much differently.

I mean, I'm pretty sure Waters taking over WAS the game plan last night... Anyone who's looked at UGA knew they had decent bigs, but didn't have a pray of any of their guards defending Waters... I said it before the game, it was his time to shine and sure enough he did

Wichita was great because they didn't let you advance the ball. Every step was contested all over the floor.

I'm hopeful guys come back and in 2020 with more 4 stars and a 5 too, can compete with the best. Right now it's a crapshoot if they beat anyone they would meet in round 2 ie the other top 25 p5 teams and couple of best mid majors.

That’s impossible.

Everyone on the Rant says that can’t happen and EVERYTHING falls back on the head coach. Or is that just Orgeron because it’s easier to blame him and not hold the players accountable for their frick ups on the field?

I love it.

Complete opposite of the current and former football coach for LSU who were just happy to get a win any way they could.

Great expectations breed great success. You should never be satisfied and always striving to get better. Kind of like another LSU football coach who turned the program around in the early 2000s who shall remain nameless.

I think we had active hands in the first half and got some steals early. Started going for steals every time rather than sound positioning on D and I ain't gonna lie, it was embarrassing in the second have how easy they were getting whatever shot they wanted.
