Sean Peyton coached a horrible game. Let's see. take out our hall of fame QB and put the Tight End at QB several times (didn't work once). That is tolerable during the season but not in the championship game.

1:50 left Rams two time outs. Let's throw it twice for incompletions so they have one time out and 1:40 left instead of running it three times and leaving them 1 minute and no time outs.

The no-call was horrible, but Peyton was worse. Egotistical shite for brains coach gave this away, and he'll have cover because of the bad no-call. This one is on him.

Dude. Just go to bed. Brees made a horrible low throw on that pass and he makes that 9 out of 10 times. If they go ultra conservative and run it 3 times and kick the go ahead field goal, then the Rams have the ball with a minute to go after the kickoff with a chance to tie with no timeouts. You are probably the type that would have said "Payton is too conservative" if he would have run it 3 times and then lost. This game is on THE INCOPETENT or PAID OFF refs. Choose one but don't blame Payton. This is how he has called plays all year. Get over yourself. IT'S THE REFS WHO LOST THIS GAME for the Saints. Big money in Los Angeles or total incompetence. Take your pick.

I know the Saints are now uber popular throughout Louisiana now, but I still can't fully get past their history and the fact Archie Manning was their starting QB for many years. Manning was loathed by true LSU fans of my generation.

Irregardless of that, the Saints WERE royally fricked on that mindless no-call and should be a Super Bowl participant this year.

Agreed to a certain extent.

I don't remember Josh Hill, Dan Arnold, or Garrett Griffin ever lining up at QB. If you're talking about Taysom Hill, he IS a quarterback.

You think Payton actually called the quick slant on first down hoping for it to be incomplete? Brees's throw was off/low. He makes that throw at least 95/100 times. The second pass on third down was incomplete because Robey-Coleman hit Tommylee Lewis in the fricking head before the ball got there. Pass interference, helmet-to-helmet, unnecessary roughness. Any of these calls give the Saints the ball inside the 5. We could have taken knees and kicked a GW chip shot.

The no-call was horrible

Agreed. It was actually inexcusable.

Manning?

No one is denying that we had our chances but what happened before or after the no call is irrelevant. What happened before or after the no call doesn't make up for the fact that the refs CHOSE not to make that call and cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl.
