Review on Picnic Provisions and Whiskey

Here's the review. Have folks been much or lately?
The chicken looks crispy, but only white meat with no bone, so those who like dark meat are out of luck. It says "boneless", but does that mean it does have skin? Looks like it does, but in some pictures, its hard to tell.

Have not been yet but I am wondering what Bourbon and Rye they are pouring.
Picked up this shirt the other day, hah Eatingnola started doing rounds of shirts for restaurants in the area.

PP was good but I was pretty hammered by the time I made it there so not sure my tastebuds were where they needed to be with that chicken.

I have gone a handful of times. I enjoyed it the first few times, but they have changed things a few times since they first opened. The biggest change, which admittedly I have not tried yet, is they changed the spicyness and overall cooking of the chicken. Apparently, the chicken was a little too spicy for children, but I thought it was perfect. It was what I was told last time I went in and saw what I thought was chicken tenders (pieces seemed smaller than previous visits) and they mentioned they changed the recipe.
Originally it was 6 pieces (3 white and 3 dark all boneless) of chicken with the "fixings" (sausage, corn, mushrooms and mirliton all done in a crawfish boil) and their cornbread honey biscuit for $16. Now I believe it's still $16 for 5 pieces of chicken and the biscuit. It ends up being pretty expensive if you order some kind of side and even an iced tea.
My favorite item I have had to this point is their beef rib entree ($29).

Everything about the place seems like a troll to me.

I went on nye, they most definitely were serving dark meat that night
Outside of one of our pieces being raw in the middle it was fine. Can’t see it lasting unless they start doing more than just chicken. Don’t really have desire to go back

I've been a few times, the wife thinks it's to spicy so we goto reginelli's or taq. corona when we want to walk somewhere close for dinner.
The cocktails are really good but I wouldn't consider the place a whisky bar by no means.
I pass by the place nightly when I walk to the dog and noticed fewer and fewer folks dining in, it'll be interesting to see how long the place last.

Fried chicken is so prevalent down here this place not making it would not surprise me.
I looked at their menu again and not really anything I would jump in the car for.

Only real reason I have gone multiple times is because it is a block from my house and an easy walk to after work without having to change out of my work clothes.

My error, then. I thought I'd read it was white meat.

I just had lunch here and decided to look it up afterwards. I didn't really like it. I'm fine with the limited menu and the cutesy setting but I don't really think the food was that great. It wasn't too spicy or anyting but everything tasted the same.
I got the chicken sandwich and the greens and they all had one flavor, vinegar.
I'm fine that it didn't really have that much texture it was just all too acidic. No real flavor at all.
not worth your time or $
