I just had lunch here and decided to look it up afterwards. I didn't really like it. I'm fine with the limited menu and the cutesy setting but I don't really think the food was that great. It wasn't too spicy or anyting but everything tasted the same.

I got the chicken sandwich and the greens and they all had one flavor, vinegar.
I'm fine that it didn't really have that much texture it was just all too acidic. No real flavor at all.

not worth your time or $

Crabs in with crawfish??

Posted by billypat on 4/21/17 at 12:37 pm
So I'm boiling crawfish tomorrow but one of my guests is bringing a box of crabs.

My question is, can I just throw some crabs in with the crawfish or do they need some extra time or attention? I've got a few pots going at a time and I've got my timing down already. If crabs require different timing, It might just probably just easier for me to add another separate crab pot. However, if they just need the same timing as the crawfish, I just just throw them with the rest of my boil and call it a day.

Anyone?
(and thanks)
Look, I realize that $6 isn't that big of a deal. and yes, it's often worth $6 to be able to order and have delivered while in your pajamas. You asked what do I expect for $6? I do think that's reasonable for $6.

I also have no "argument" here either. My only point is that they (Waitr)say (or at least imply) that it's free and I got mildly annoyed when there was a fee "to cover the administrative costs of our delivery network."

I am not saying that these costs are excessive, or that they are too costly for the service. My only remark is that it's not free as advertised and I wish that was stated on the front page or pre-order instead of buried on the checkout page. I'm just not a fan of sales practices (no matter how small) where you go into the deal and they add the fees on the end. I will probably use he service anyway. I'm not petty, I just found this thread when looking for a new delivery app so I input my $.02.

I live in NOLA so I just went with a different delivery restaurant last night but I realize that not all communities and neighborhoods have very many options besides Domino's.

And yes, the restaurant staff and delivery drivers all deserve a tip for the work that they do. and Waitr probably is trying to help the staff out by boosting the drivers' tip by calculating the total amount AFTER they add in they delivery fee.

I just wishing there was more transparency but at the end of the day, I everyone deserves to get paid for the work they do (drivers and restaurants); the developers deserve to make money off of their app. $6 is not too much to ask for a delivery.... again, I have no argument. just a plea for transparency. It's not a big deal. this was all more important when I had my computer open last night and this forum up from a search so I figured it'd reply.
...and today, I am just procrastinating at work... LOL.
yeah, that is maybe what they meant but they sure make it seem like there is no fee; a bit deceptive on purpose I think. no big deal and there are def. more important things in the world. I just had my heart broken this evening cause I was looking forward to some wings and I wanted to sock it to 'em a bit. That's it, movin' on now.

I agree that it's not surprising and yes, it is worth it sometimes. And yes, 20% for a delivery guy who doesn't wait on you like in a restaurant is probably too much. So the cost might be a bit less.

All I am trying to figure out is why they claim it's free when it actually costs, that's all. It's just annoying. I'll use it in a pinch. It just not the Holy Grail as I originally thought (because I read it on their site).
Yeah, I was excited when I read about this app too. I looked up the fees on their site and read where they said that was free.

I went to put in an order (I'm in NOLA) and I see they hit me with a $6 delivery fee before any tip.

SO a $23 order turns into a $38 in no time (see screenshot). It's a shame I had high hopes but I wish they would just say they charge you from the get go. I got my hopes up.
