Its offseason right now it's all speculation

It is with not much to break it all up. Spring camp will come and go and all it will do is open up more questions that we hadn't even thought to ask yet. One thing I learned a long time ago was not to read too much into the spring game. I walked away from 2007 spring game thinking that LSU would be lucky to have a winning season. They won a NC

Cameron Wire was 265lbs when he signed I believe so he has a very long way to go before he’s ready to play in the SEC. the roster has him listed at 296 right now but I’d be willing to bet he is closer to 285.

Serious question: why are people penciling in Rosenthal at one of the tackle spots? I thought I read that he didn't dress for any games this year. I don't know much about him, but many here seem to.

Deculus' athleticism was pretty disappointing. I had high hopes he'd be a true LT for us one day, but you're right, his first step is damn slow.

He's a butter ball. Needs to drop some fat and put on muscle.

If you get a chance go back and look at some of his high school video. Ferriday was doing some crazy shite with him. Lining him out wide and throwing the ball to him. I'm pretty sure that he scored too.

Dropping him back into coverage. One play in particular where he intercepted the ball in the end zone and kept the other team from scoring a touchdown.

He's athletic enough to play tackle.

He’s got prototypical size

Long arms

A ton of athleticism

He was ranked very high as an OT before staying at Ferriday and playing DL.

If Ingram returns he will be a starter. Was probably our best OL by the end of the 2017 season

Its just that it is much harder to find top Tackles than it is to recruit top level guards

I think we can all agree that Donavaughn Campbell has been a big disappointment too. Thought he would be a very good multi-year starter for us, but he hasn't gotten any time.

Yes, he was adequate but against top flight DE's his lack of agility was glaringly obvious.

Tackle...but most of our tackles are guards.

Every tackle we've seemingly recruited for a number of years is really a guard. It's been the poorest position assessment done in recruiting for a while.

We can’t afford our QB to keep getting hit from his blindside. He needs to stay on the right side or move to guard

Meh.

Our competition has no problem consistently finding top tackles and fielding them every single season. And we haven't had a top tackle since Pocic...we're going on like our 4th season.

I understand there are recruiting and developing deficiencies with many teams, but LSU is considered a better program than most of them, and our deficiency is more drastic than most. QB is not our main problem anymore...it's OT.

If he's at 285lbs now, we could see him ready for 2019.

His development could be crucial for LSU. We need legit OT's. He's got the feet and the frame for this, but he came in here very raw having played TE most of HS.

I dont want 320 pound tackles, I'd rather a guy who can move and pass block. Plenty of very good college OTs out there in the 290-300 pound range.

Sounds like he's close to being where he needs to be.

exactly, him and Rosenthal dont really need to put on any weight really, just get stronger and lose fat

Was he the guy who Moses destroyed on that play action deep in our territory that almost got a safety?

I don’t think Wire is strong enough yet regardless of his weight. Look at his arms and legs. Sure he may be quick but he can also get blown up by bull rushers if he’s not strong enough. I’m sure LSU would like him right at 300-305.
