Who do y’all think will win the starting 5 spots. Let’s just say Ed Ingram returns. For now I’ll go with:
LT: Charles
LG: Hines
C: Cush
RG: Lewis/Ingram
RT: Deculus

From what I saw out of Chasen Hines if he’s healthy he will have a starting spot no question. Cushenberry is the only other sure bet. I’ve been hearing people talk up Dare Rosenthal but I’m not convinced he’s ready to beat Charles out at LT so soon but it would a good sign if he did. I’ve long thought Deculus would be a better gaurd than Tackle but right now we need him at RT because we are very deep inside. Kardell Thomas could come in and blow the world away but I think he needs a little time to drop weight and get his body conditioned for SEC play. He could be starting games by mid season though with the talent he’s got. On talent alone I would love to see this line starting:
LT: Rosenthal
LG: Hines
C: Cush
RG: Thomas
RT: Bradford/Charles

If Charles isn’t play one of the tackles, I’d like to see him at guard

Rose that being LT would be a very good sign.

I thought Charles could play there as a freshmen but idk after last year.

Thomas needs to get in better shape. I see him getting some decent PT against lesser opponents and if he gets in game shape, maybe some real PT in SEC play the latter half of the year.

He probably needs to drop 30 lbs though. His mean streak is legit though and I can't wait to see him in a game.

If Deculus is going to cement his spot at RT he really needs to grind this offseason. Nothing against the guy but he was horribly slow off the snap this season in pass pro. He may be better suited moving inside, but if we get Ingram back or if Lewis earns the job than that may be best. Hope he can make a name for himself this go around.

Lewis is an automatic starter. Hines did well against Auburn in that he wasn't overmatched against strong DTs, but he didn't distinguish himself after that. His injury may have had something to do with that, but Lewis is a proven quality starter who was 2nd team all conference by PFF.

Deculus' athleticism was pretty disappointing. I had high hopes he'd be a true LT for us one day, but you're right, his first step is damn slow.

He got his lunch eaten wayyyy too many times year and it frustrated him and cause him to false start on top of that.

Deculus

Love this kid. He's not a tackle imo. He's too slow with his 1st step and gets beat by speedy guys. maybe he lightens up a little and quickens up.

Was he recruited as a Tackle of Guard?

Hopefully experience will help him in blitz pickup too. I can't count how many times there was an unaccounted guy on that right side running through a valley ready to decapitate poor Joe cause of lack of communication/awareness/whatever...

Tackle...but most of our tackles are guards.

OT I'm pretty certain. Unfortunately that's been the bane of this unit, playing natural OGs at tackle.

he was recruited as an elite level tackle. 4 star, 0.977, #10 rated tackle of his class.
dude has massively under performed.

And Ray Parker is the only true OT we have in this class as well, and he hasn't even signed yet.

We really need to pick it up here. We need former TE athletic types to play OT. Dillon Gordon's of the world.

LT: Charles
LG: Deculus
C: Cushenberry
RG: Lewis
RT: Rosenthal or Wire

What I would like to see, if Ingram comes back throws a wrench into G plans obviously. Or flip Charles to RT if Rosenthal or Wire look better at LT.

Deculus is just a disaster at RT. He needs to play left side

Yeah I agree, or just not OT at all.

I would watch him every play and just hold my breath. No quickness and can't get low on DE's that had good bend. The guy from LaTech (granted, he's getting drafted) absolutely embarrassed him.

LT- Dare
LG- Hines
C- Cush
RG- Lewis
RT- Wire or Charles.

The above has potential to be decent.

I think if Charles isn’t a tackle he’s gonna start somewhere at guard. Probably LG.

Honestly we could upgrade talent wise at C and RG as well but experience va talent is a factor.

Lewis and Cush aren’t bad, but they’re not some great talents that have 100% safe jobs
