Well,
Rutgers went from 68th to 22nd in PDs after Busch's arrival
Wisc was 4th in total defense in 2014 and 7th in 2013
Utah State was perennially sub-60s in PDs and was 4th in Busch's last year there.

Ricks visited LSU multiple times and told us he had a great relationship with head coach Ed Orgeron and Tiger DB coach Corey Raymond.

Looking at coaching bios, Busch was dc at utah state 09-10. Im assuming he had hand in hiring CR. Aranda hired in 11 as DC, Busch to safeties, CR to Neb

This is just plain ignorant.

Delpit will be a first rounder.
If he had 9 first rounders in 18 years would that be good?

The only thing I know for certain at this moment is that we currently have a raise/extension offer on the table for CR. His interview with UGA was late morning/early afternoon today, so anyone claiming numbers or offers made before that are full of shite. I'm leaning towards CR really just using this to sweeten the pot on our side to exactly where he wants it, but it's still definitely worth keeping an eye on. UGA is going to have to do something drastic to make CR accept and leave LSU.

Thanks.
And what about the Ohio State "offer"

So having Aranda there had little to do with that?

Again, I am not saying Busch is chopped liver. He's a safety coach far and away historically, and that is the key. I think he can handle overall strategy but CB technique has not been something he has a proven track record of performing.

I think he's done an excellent job with Delpit this season. Busch is a good coach, but he's historically been solely a Safety coach throughout his career. he's only coached full secondary a handful of time.
Furthermore, why did our other safeties look mediocre to bad this year? Battle regressed even. Again, Stevens was being coached as a LBer most of the offseason and season.
The point of the post is just that people thinking Busch will easily replace Raymond are being naive. His history doesn't prove that.

Really? How did you come to that assumption? His coaching history:
COACHING EXPERIENCE
1989 Nebraska Wesleyan (graduate assistant/defensive ends
1990-93 Nebraska (graduate assistant/secondary)
1994 Wisconsin (graduate assistant)
1995-96 Northern Arizona (secondary, 1995; co-defensive coordinator/secondary, 1996)
1997-00 New Mexico State (secondary)
2001-03 Utah State (safeties, 2001-02; secondary, 2003)
2004-07 Nebraska (outside linebackers/special teams coordinator, 2004; safeties/special teams coordinator, 2005-07)
2009-12 Utah State (defensive coordinator, 2009-10; associate head coach/safeties/special teams coordinator, 2011-12)
2013-14 Wisconsin (safeties)
2015 Ohio State (defensive quality control)
2016-17 Rutgers (defensive backs, 2016; co-defensive coordinator/defensive backs, 2017)
2018 LSU (safeties)

Do not want raymond meddling in the frickin defense. Aran da is our only DC and it should stay that way. That's the only thing I do not want and we should let raymond go if that's the case. Don't frick with arandas defense.
