Busch as a DB coach

Let's look at the number of players drafted in the secondary from Busch's respective stops as a secondary coach in some form:
16-17 Rutgers - 0
13-14 Wisconsin - 1 (3rd Round)
09-12 Utah State - 1 (3rd Rounders) *another 3rd rounder was a CB (he was safeties coach).
05-07 Nebraska - 1 (2nd round he coached 1 year) *1 5th rounder CB, he was safeties coach
01-03 Utah State - 0
So in nearly 18 years prior to getting to LSU, Busch has had 4 players drafted from his position/unit coaching groups. 4.
Raymond, OTOH, in just his first 6 seasons at LSU (not counting this season) has had 6 (this doesn't count Mathieu since he didn't play in 2012).
Yes talent makes a difference, but if Busch is as good as some make him out to be, then you'd have seen more success in nearly the past 2 decades.
He is purely a safety coach throughout his career where he was successful, so expecting him to just replace Raymond is a bit naive.

Do Raymond’s before he got to LSU and compare it to Ron Cooper
Posted on 1/13/19 at 1:16 pm to Geauxgurt
Why don’t you make an apples to apples comparison and use Ron Cooper compared to CR?

How many players did Raymond have drafted prior to being at LSU?

This says more about where Raymond has coached rather than him. If Busch was here those years it would be the same or more.
If Raymond feels he needs to leave to further his career by all means bye.

Sorry. Busch is pushing Raymond out so he can take over and we'll finally have a real Defensive Backs Coach.

Raymond had players drafted at Nebraska

That comparison is not apples to apples.
One coach has his pick of the litter cuz we are DBU while the other coached at FAR less heralded places.

He coached in college starting in 2009 at Utah State and then 1 year at Nebraska.
09-10 Utah State - 1 (3rd Round) Same staff as Busch who coached safeties
11 Nebraska - 1 (7th round)
So he's matching him with his units.

Ok - so busch has been at LSU for an entire year. He's landed Ika. That's it.

He got Ricks to commit and is working on the number one Pocket Passer in the country for 2020 at the moment.

We wouldn't have Burrow without him.

That's debatable. Did Burrow declare for the draft yet?
and he didn't land Ricks - he was secondary on that - Raymond landed him.

That's hardly debatable. Busch was the reason Burrow had any interest in us whatsoever.

What does this matter? Do you expect him to?

Raymond recruiting California now?

Not a lot of thought process put into this post considering the resources of said schools

Done a pretty good job getting Delpit to make the leap from good to elite. Did a good job finding a role for Stephens. Hard to assess how much an assistant coach has done in a year on the job.

He didn't get Ricks to commit, have you read any quotes from him about his commitment?
