Without Benadryl, whiskey or any illegal substances before you band of misfits mention any of this.

Haha. Go ahead and budget a few more hours on that trip, you will be stopping a lot.

Well you leave at 8:00 pm when the baby goes to sleep and they sleep in the crib.

Are you new to this? Your 6 hour trip may turn into 8 to 9 hours. The question should be “How do I maintain my sanity for a long road trip with my infant child?”

iPad with their favorite Movies/TV Shows. When my daughter was 3 we drove from Lake Charles to the Kansas/Nebraska border. It wasn't an easy trip, but she was mostly content for being 3.

Driving at night is also a good suggestion. We go out to my inlaws in west Texas every year for Thanksgiving. 8 hour drive. We leave around 6-7 pm. The kids and wife sleep most of the way out there and I get to listen to some interesting audiobooks.

ETA: I read 4 year old, not 4 month old. Yeah, definitely drive at night and have your SO sit in the backseat with them.

iPad.

Stop every 2 hours for outside play.

Time it around nap time.

This is the right answer until they are old enough to be entertained by electronics.
