Yes, by all means buy the realtor a gift. They have somehow convinced us that a percentage of the home's value is the right amount to pay them for scheduling photos, listing on a database, answering a few calls, holding an open house, and completing routine forms. This seems like the next logical step.

FUUUUCK No! They should get you something.
I've received wine, and a buddy a Green Egg from their agents.

No, your realtor should take you out to dinner on the nice 3-4% sales commission you earned them by buying the house.

Lulz, no. They make commission. Ours actually brought us a sack of crawfish, keg of beer and case of wine to the house warming party as a gift to us for using him.

I love all the clueless answers in every realtor thread. They don’t keep all the commissions. Their broker takes a huge chunk of it.
That is the agent"s problem, not the buyer or the seller, the agent if they have a clue should be giving the buyers a gift.

My agent bought me a nice bottle of wine when we closed.

Always remember as a buyer, your intent is to spend less. But your “agent” gets paid more if you spend more. Hell no you don’t buy them anything.

Wtf they should get you a gift not the other way around. They just made a buttload off you, why in the world would you give them a gift too?
Posted on 1/9/19 at 6:47 pm to LATECHgradLSUfan
Hell no. She should get you all a gift.

A lot of misinformation in here
When you buy a house, you aren’t giving the agent a commission. The seller is. Pretty shocked how many people got that wrong in here
However, you are in no way expected to give them a gift.

Yeah, and it’s bigger if you spend more. Yet he’s supposed to be working in your best interests?
