quote:

She said her son got frustrated after a teacher told him to keep working, or do more work, and he wanted to take a break.

"He was not hurting anyone," she said.

Nelson said the teacher grabbed her son by the wrist and bent it backward. She then dragged the boy down the hallway "from one classroom into another."

The camera within the classroom was turned toward a corner, Nelson said, so there's no video of what happened in the classroom. Her son said the teacher threw him down hard onto a chair, Nelson wrote in her Facebook post.

If you can't deal with kids all day, or like money, don't teach.

I mean yea its hard but being aware and knowing what will and wont get you fired isnt that hard. Dragging a kid down the hall like that, know matter what he did, is a sure fire way to get your arse canned.

ETA: especially one with a mental illness.

Jesus, give the kid a break, but have him understand he is responsible for completing all his work. In the IEP meeting, I guarantee this was discussed. However, it is possible the kid abuses his need for breaks.

They don’t all have autism, they all have ADHD.

I feel like a lot of it is honestly just developmental issues that come from lazy parenting honestly. Ive seen some diagnosed with it that honestly weren't close to being what I would consider to be in that relm from a social interaction, etc. standpoint. Some of it is definitely caused from addiction to technology.

My son is autistic.

If I saw a teacher do this to him, it would get bloody.

That is because we try to cram 7-18 year-olds into a desk for 8 hours day and say "don't move and learn." Our education system is so stupid.

It might as well be. Guessing you've never been around an autistic child.
