I drive to St. Fransicville for work four days a week. I have 3 kids ages 10, 3 and 1, but they will be in private schools so school district shouldn’t be an issue. Should we buy a new house, slightly used, fixer upper or should we build? What what you do if you were in my shoes?

I'd live in St. Francisville and send them to school there.

Garden district is pretty nice. Can jump on 110 pretty easily and avoid the split

All depends on income. I'm assuming around $150-200K. There was a thread a couple weeks ago and about 6-7 subdivisions were listed. I moved from Baton Rouge 5-6 yrs ago and places have changed since then.

There are a few good areas in Baton Rouge to live. Don't know much about St. Francisville schools but it's a nice area and always enjoyed it when traveling there

Well I wouldn’t build a house in BR that’s for sure. Wouldn’t buy one there either.

If you work in St. Francisville, you should live there too.

I would live in mid city. Easy jump on I-110 to St Francisville for work, fairly easy to get to any other area of BR, a lot of good developments coming up, and you actually feel like you live in a city and not a suburb. Garden District/Capital Heights/Old Goodwood all great neighborhoods.

Live in St. Francisville.

Why would you pony up the money for private school just to subject yourself to a 25-30 mile commute? You're killing no birds with two stones.

Immediately check for fit.

Probably take them off as soon as possible and put my own back on.

I haven’t worn anyone else’s shoes in decades.

Prairieville or somewhere in Ascension. Literally the best place in the state to live as long as you don’t go to Donaldsonville, which is separated by the river
