What's the highest you've ever seen the decibel meter get?

In the dome. I remember it getting crazy high last year against Carolina in the wild card game . I wasn't at the nfc championship game against minny in 09 but I'd guess it would've been pretty nuts in that game.

It’s fake. It just spits out numbers to generate enthusiasm.

The players don't care as much about the noise as the media makes out but they don't say it. They like to encourage fans to go to games and be passionate but on the field it really is a small issue. The teams can practice for noise and use other methods of communicating.

I wouldn't get too wound up about decibels.

I was there for 2009 Viking playoff game and you could not hear the person sitting next to you screaming, the announcer said it was comparable to a large jet engine on takeoff.

Clearly you’ve never seen a “fan impact play” in the dome.

They played that during last week's Panthers game. What a joke. At the time the Dome was half empty and very few of us were paying attention to the game.
