2018 LSU offense is a classic example of “lies, damned lies, statistics”

National Stats say it was bad.

Outside of Bama game, they moved the ball when they absolutely needed to. Stats don’t measure that.

To me, this was a better offense than 2014 and 2015.

It wasn’t the “worst of the 21st century” as some posters claim. It was SERVICEABLE

Off the top of my head, I can immediately think of two games when a first down would have sealed the game and we couldn't get it.

He's right. We got the 3rd down conversions when it matters almost every time

Sure could've used them moving the ball on LSU's last drive in regulation vs A&M.

1st and goal in OT against A&M and we absolutely needed 8 yards to end the game

we scored 19 points vs Florida

And when we need a FG to win we punted and threw 2 picks.

15 plays for 52 yards in an entire half against SLU.

Don’t delude yourself. The offense was bad.

Did you watch our last possession in regulation of the A&M game or our last possession in the fiesta bowl?? And what about settling for all those FGs in every other game. That’s not converting 3rd downs. Our offense was better than it was with miles his last years but it was still a bottom feeder in the conference and the country.

The bottom line is the offense pretty much sucked and if someone says otherwise they are just being a stubborn homer. Think about all the times we couldn’t score a TD in the red zone or convert critical 3rd downs. Tracy was a god send to this offense but anytime a team relies on their kicker that much the offense is usually not too good.

I recall our offense looking good in all of like three games this year

Auburn, Georgia and UCF

We looked really bad in most of the rest. I think the stats tell the story pretty well

+1. With game on the line the Tiger offense was legit. Need to improve on putting teams away on last drives and better play calling and execution in the RED zone. Could be a juggernaut in 2019. NEVER thought I would say this about an LSU offense but it's happening...…
