The "I'll eat some crow" thread

Gotta say, I have had a lot of doubts, but looking at the season as a whole, 10-3 was a heck of a year. I incorrectly predicted much worse.
Easy to complain in the moment about a particular loss or issue when put under microscope, but this team grew and developed and looks ripe for a strong 2019 campaign. I think it's still very fair to say we've got plenty of areas that we need to desperately improve in if we're aiming to be elite, but this year has to be considered a massive success with where many of us (and most media members too) predicted we'd be when making preseason prognostications.
Glad to say I was wrong. I love LSU. Hoping to see us keep the ball rolling.

There are about 2000 other posters who should be checking in annyyyy minute to enjoy their serving of crow as well, amirite?

We should have won every game except bama

I predicted 6-7 wins...one of the funnest seasons in a long time. I'll never forget the Auburn game. My 9 year old son was screaming and running circles in the living room when Tracy nailed the field goal. He still brings it up every game.

Most delicious crow I've ever had.

This is correct.
Doesn't take away from the season in my eyes but truth is truth.

This is why I'm not overly pleased with the end result. It should've been better.

For me, it was fun watching LSU play this year. There were years in the not too distant past when that wasn't always the case.

When the hire was first made I thought we could have done better, now two years later, I think Orgeron is the perfect fit for HC at LSU and am very glad that we wound up with Orgeron and could 't be happier with the hire. It really just worked out well for us.

So you predicted 11-1...riiiiiiiiight.

after the burrow signing my expectation was sec west title. if O closes the recruiting class with sospher i'll be legit impressed.

Y'all know I'm one of them. Job well done by the coaches. 9-4 (6-2) to 10-3 (5-3) and not having any inexcusable losses is the step in the right direction. I would've been happy in August to split with Alabama and UGA. I thought the ceiling was 8-4 and expected 7-5 after looking at the schedule. Very good to end the year off with a win, even though the A&M loss really stung for me. We should have won that one 7 times.
Future looks brighter going forward. I am happy to be wrong.

great post crazyfan. almost all of us deserve to eat at least part of that crow. I never bought into the 6-6 or 7-5 bull shite but I thought 9 wins would be the ceiling.
frick the closed minded fans that absolutely HATE Orgeron, Ensminger, Greedy and most things that are LSU. they are a minority and they have a loud voice. some of these guys are in almost every thread which proves to me they have no life and are probably still sucking mom's teet and are not job holders that have to pay their own bills. no one but us old fart retirees have that kind of time.
on a positive basis, O has this program headed in the right direction. on the negative side i'm uncertain if he can prevent losing games that he should win. I know most teams drop one a year they should win (ohio state, etc) but losing to florida and the aggies this year were gut wrenching and prevented us from making the play offs.
I am cautiously optimistic going forward. but Orgeron has performed much better than I anticipated. I think he KNOWS how to bring this program to the top; I think he will at least challenge for the top.

I did not predict 11-1.
I believe we should've gone 11-1.
I await your point.

Eh. Those other teams are playing to win, too.
We could have won every game except Bama (and maybe that one too), but given the lack of talent we had this year at some positions, you almost have to see that as a testament to the job the coaching staff did.
Coach O has some characteristics and tendencies that I really can’t stand, and I do think he’ll have to change some things for us to compete for championships, but he did a good job this year overall.

Next year U!
Should not have lost @UF or @AtM. Offensive production was a joke. Defense was Ok. All of the 6-6 7-5 predictions were a dumb, but it's still another year without anything to show.

I’m in that boat too. The only thing that drives me nuts is the way he plays so conservative with the lead. That hurts us and will cost us if he doesn’t change it.
