Currently have a long haired Dachshund and Blue Heeler mix. The sweetest dog I’ve ever owned. I take her fishing with me at every opportunity. Jumps in the truck. Runs down the dock and jumps in the boat. Last time we went, I had to park the boat on the bank and she couldn’t jump in the boat. I was moving the boat over to the dock to get her and I heard a splash. Turned around to see her crying and swimming towards the boat. Greatest dog ever.

I have one. Very lovable dog. He can be stubborn as a mule sometimes though. He barks at anything and everything

If I get a dog this will be the one. It is strange some bark at anything and others not so much. Is this lack of training or just the individual dog? Barking at anything would be a deal breaker for me.

We have a male bout 7 yrs old. He, (Wallace) is paralyzed in his back end, still thinks he is a bad arse. We also have a pit mix. Not long ago crippled Wallace attacked the pit mix, (Rufus). Rufus tried to get away and Wallace went for more. I broke them up and the damn dachshund, (Wallace) bit me. When the dust settled, (I had to remove Wallace from the scene and take his arse to the bathtub) we learned Wallace had two puncture wounds in his neck and I had two or more in my damn hand. To this day, Wallace still growls at Rufus.

Got two of them. They're great and sweet as can be and only bark when someone knocks on the door.

I've had 4 of them so far. My Louie and Leo are the most beautiful, sweet, loyal, hilarious, and stubborn little guys. There's nothing quite like a dachshund. They have a serious Napoleon complex though. No fear in them. So loyal and so loving. They're little clowns too. I wouldn't trade them for anything and I'll always have them.

She has sent two dogs to the vet. A neighbors boxer and my BIL’s rat terrier. Nothing horrible but enough to go get them fixed up. That boxer is scared to death of her. She’s lucky, if that boxer was like her obviously it wld destroy her.

Brother had one and it would growl then go under a table. One day, out of the blue it bit me.
I kicked it across the room and it never bothered me again

My boys mom was Dachshund, dad was a Jack Russell/Chihuahua Mix.

He's mean AF to anyone he doesn't know but real loving and protective of the family. Goes back and forth from my son's room to mine sleeping in the bed and patrolling for intruders.

This x1000.

I had a red longhaired who lived to be 17. Cried like a baby when I had to put her down. Sweet, loyal, and loved people.

I have a black/tan longhaired (avatar pic) who is a rescue and only likes me. Loyal, clownish, and stubborn as a mule. Dragged a possum in through the dog door one night.

Tough little dogs. Very hard to house train.

We have one that is 13 years old. In his younger days he was an awesome dog. He was never one that would bite people and loved strangers or guests in our house.

Fast forward to now, he is getting really irritating in his old age and has developed some super aggravating behaviors. He is still very active and spry however.

He whines incessantly when he is downstairs, constantly chases our other dogs to lick their dicks, and always pukes up stomach acid. I could go on.

Our boxer and golden retriever are phenomenal dogs. I should start a spin-off thread about those breeds.

Cannot be overstated. My wifes is 6 months old and its borderline maddening. He seems intelligent but has a total aversion to shitting outside
