Facebook takes action against users for calling accused cop killer illegal immigrant

Amid accusations that Facebook employs secretive content policing strategies, which critics say disproportionately impact conservative users, the social media giant is now being accused of removing posts that describe Gustavo Perez Arriaga — the man police accuse of murdering California police officer Ronil Singh — as an "illegal immigrant."
According to Blue Lives Matter, Facebook has informed multiple users that posts declaring "Arriaga" to be an "illegal immigrant" or "illegal alien" violate the platform's community rules for "hate speech."
In one instance, a user posted a picture with Singh and Arriaga side-by-side. Above and below Singh's picture were the words "vetted legal immigrant" and "protector" while the words "unvetted illegal immigrant" and "[alleged] murderer" were above and below Arriaga's.
Facebook removed the image.
"This photo goes against our Community Standards on hate speech," Facebook told the user.
Meanwhile, another Facebook user who posted Singh's picture and referred to Arriaga as an "illegal alien" — a standard phrase used to refer to illegal immigrants — was similarly reprimanded for "hate speech."

What other similar options are there? I agree they need to be dumped but they do serve a purpose

I utilize FB as an advertising platform for my business. We receive messages like that all the time because people report everything on FB. Doesn’t matter how tame it is. It’s absolutely ridiculous but it’s really the users who are causing that issue.

Please for the love of God just stop posting or checking or logging into Facebook
We are not going to win this fight and the answer is not government regulations. It is the free market. Let the Progressives and stay at home moms have their echo chamber and multilevel marketing platform.
Every click you give Facebook is revenue. Stop it.

I got off Facebook about a year ago. Since then, my friends actually call or we go grab a drink and catch up. When I do see people, it’s, “what have you been up to”
Listen to how people who are on FB y’all to each other. Did you see_______? Why is soandso posting ______? There is no real conversation anymore.

Just a month or so ago. Many financial gurus were saying FB would be going to 200 dollars per share.
If FB keeps it up they will be regulated and be lucky to stay at 100 per share.

Come on, man. Even if you have your own website, the marketing advantages of being on facebook is virtually unparalleled.
I've never used facebook, but people claiming we should just ignore it are ignorant. There are over 100 million uninformed idiots that use it. Like it or not, it is an important way to connect to people. Writing all those people off is a quick way to lose the culture war. Facebook is simply too big to let the leftists have it.
