Vol, would Finley or Johnson be asked to look elsewhere?

Big development here imo. It may turn out to mean nothing later but this little visit is big at this stage. You dont turn away a chance at this kid. Of all the big boys our QB room has to be the most attractive. Day 1 starter(if he earns it) type attractive. Cannot be undersold how big that pitch is to some kids these days.

I’m not very high on Finley. I’d gladly part ways to get D.J.

DJ would absolutely be the day 1 starter.

They would tell Finley to look, but I can see Johnson leaving if that happens and Finley staying. You try and keep Johnson over Finley, but I would say Johnson would end up elsewhere and Finley would stay on board.

D.J. definitley is the favorite to land the job. Only Brennan and Parrish would be there coming in. He’s better than both of them hands down. Even if we keep a QB in this class like Johnson or Finley he’s ahead of them too obviously. Most likely starts Day 1 if he’s here.

We have a 6’5 QB with a cannon that would have 3 years worth of repetitions on DJ.

And that’s a HUGE IF, he even comes to LSU.

Some of you need to calm down on the star gazing

2018 Highlights

DJ doesn't weigh a buck 80.

1. I obviously know we aren’t front runners to get D.J.
2. Star Gazing doesn’t apply here. He’s the #1 QB in the nation, look at Trevor Lawerence right now.
3. Myles Brennan has a good arm. He also weighs no more than 190 pounds, and hasn’t gotten bigger at all since he’s been here. Sure he’ll have some reps in practice, but it’s not like he’s played much in actual games.
4. D.J. Is 6’5 with an even better cannon. He has a better physique. He is the #1 overall QB in the nation, much better than what Brennan could ever be.

The kid’s talented, has a big arm, and is huge.

He also has a throwing motion that makes Jordan Jefferson’s look quick and his entire highlight tape is shotgun 5 wide.

I agree that he isn't a shoe in to walk in and take the reigns as true freshman, but with his build and talent level, you can't write that off completely either.

You're really going out on a limb there aren't you?

At least he's looking, though.

I think it says a lot he’s in Arizona watching our practices and prep for the bowl game right now. Pretty sure he’ll be at the bowl game with Ricks as well.

It's a long shot admittedly, but having the best baseball program in the country to go along with a need for an elite QB isn't going to hurt the situation. He wants to visit and see both again in the Spring, so we'll see how it goes.

That can't beat out Joe Burrow. No question Brennan has better tools than Burrow but that goes out of the equation with Uiagalelei. I'm a fan of Brennan but he isn't what many of us thought yet. You have to recruit the best and let the best man win.

If many get their wish Brennan and DJ would both be in their first year in a new system so the experience factor isn't really as big as it used to be
