Okay wait now.

According to the article, the two “student athletes” were in the front seat of the truck and detained for questioning.

The fatally shot non-student athlete was in the backseat.

Were they all riding together?

Sounds like another party from outside the truck did the shooting.

Why would you turn around and shoot somebody in the back seat?

Basketball rosters can't afford losses like that because their numbers aren't as great

That's your biggest concern or takeaway?

If Clyde was robbed and used a legal gun in self defense he’s good to go, no issues for him according to LA law. Not sure why y’all are acting like this is life ruining for him.

Totally agree. The situation sounds a little shady though.

The guy who was buying the PlayStation got in the back seat to do the transaction. He then tried to rob ceh in the front seat and then got shot.

Is he 21??

Important question. Still immaterial when it comes to justifiable homicide, though.

Don’t you have to be 21 to legally posses a handgun

Yes, unless you have written parental consent and it's in your possession(ETA - for persons under 17, not 21).

ETA: My mistake. For some reason I read 21 as 18 and I was wrong anyway. It's 17 in Louisiana. I also should have recognized that we're talking about CEH here which means he's obviously over 17.

An FFL holder cannot transfer a handgun to persons under 21. Possession and private transfers only deal with under and over 17 in Louisiana and under and over 18 in most other states.

Article changed fwiw.

When I first read, it stated the victim was in front with two safe in backseat who called police. Now it's switched.

You think a cop can just make a shooting disappear? You greatly overestimate their influence.

I already made other comments. Is what I said not true?

There’s a fine line between self defense and murder though. If the guy robbed him, and CEH chased him to the truck and then shot him then that isn’t self defense. The part that has me worried is that the victim was in the front seat of the truck, so when did the attempted robbery occur? Did he shoot him as the robbery was occurring, or did he shoot him out of retaliation from being robbed? Details are sketchy as hell right now.

While I generally agree with you you also underestimate the State of Louisiana

CEH is a good kid. Had to be self defense if I were guessing.

I knew when I rhetorically asked that, that someone was going to invoke the Pulp Fiction scene.

Why is this thread still here? It is highly irresponsible of the admins to allow a athletes name to be dragged through mud without proof.
