Drew Brees ranks:
Tied for 29th among QB’s all time in MVP awards. Other notables tied with include AJ McCarron, Tebow, and Kaepernick. Soon to be tied for 30th after Mahomes gets his.
Tied for 3rd in MVPs among current NFC South QB’s.
There is, however, only one kicker in NFL history with more MVP’s than he has. So he does have that going for him.
Shouldn’t a prerequisite for being in the GOAT conversation be “has said player ever been the best player in the league for a season?”
