Dalton Hilliard hands down!

Corey Webster, Chad Lavalais, Marcus Spears, Marquise Hill, maybe Lionel Turner also

Three guys come to mind for me.
Dalton Hilliard
Tommy Hodson
Kevin Faulk

Ok Kyle Williams too tho he wasn’t a stud until his Jr year
So Landry was 6th best guy on a loaded defense, that’s still impressive

Jessie and LaRon both played big snaps in 03 as frosh. So did Kirston Pittman.

Seriously

Yea seriously.
Hill had 6 sacks and another 24 QB hurries which lead the team. Turner had identical stats to Landry, with 2 less tackles but 2 more TFL.
I mean that was a sick defense, no shame if Landry wasn’t the best lol

You realize Lavalais & Corey Webster we’re both all Americans, right? You say Williams was better. Spears was for sure too. So at least 5th best.

My first thought was Dalton hilliard but it's hard to ignore Tommy Hodson making All-SEC as a true freshman in 1986 and leading LSU to it's 1st SEC Championship and 1st top 10 finish since 1970.

I always enjoyed Jarvis Landry wrecking chumps during Kickoffs in 2011. He was a tone setter for what still is the best LSU football team I've ever seen. It will not go down as the best season by an LSU freshman. It was just my favorite.

since you starting watching LSU football?
since this is the qualifier, I have been following LSU football since about 1993. The best freshmen seasons in my life-time, in no particular order, have been:
Kevin Faulk
Justin Vincent
Tyrann Mathieu
Laron Landry

Herb Tyler was a junior when we beat Florida. In his freshman season, he didn't start until the last few games of the season after Jamie Howard got hurt.
