Why doesn't anyone in the SEC have the balls to challenge Alabama?

I mean invest in the infrastructure to beat them at their own game. Saban himself is not THAT large of a deference maker. It's more than that. Seems like some of these big money schools would pull out all the stops at some point and decide to play by the same rules Bama has decided to play by.

Uhh look at the kind of money schools like A&M and Georgia and auburn have committed to their programs over the last few years

A lot of SEC schools are trying to play catch up, but Saban just has had such a large lead.
UGA/Auburn/A&M/LSU: we get 10 new analysts, facility upgrades, and recruiting staff
Alabama in response can just: add 5 more analysts to the existing arse load they already have, continue to shine and expand their facilities, and continue to expand their recruiting operation.

Georgia and A&M in particular are getting after it financially right now.

They do. Bama is better at it right now.

Ole Miss had the balls but we had the REC chop them off.

Rational Fans: “Other teams are trying, but Alabama is the best program in the country, with the best coach maybe in history.”
LSU Fans: “OMG the SEC offices are in Birmingham. There is a worldwide conspiracy against us and Bama gets every call.”

Yet here you are on an LSU message board.

We were stuck with an AD who put a 10 year freeze on facilities and thought all the shitty sports (like baseball )were as important as football.

The OP has a point, whether or not you agree.
There is so much more to it.
Yes, aTm and UGA are pouring $$$ in an effort to compete. aTm is now the most valuable CFB program, according to Forbes. Yet, aTm just lost one of their top recruits to Bama despite all of this, on top of hiring a well-known name as HC.
There is no "conspiracy" at all. The system is what it is and will not change until that conspiracy you mock everyone for is changed...but that's only a small percentage of it....
If you think it is just LSU fans that complain about this, you are insane. Of course you can come to an LSU message board and find that.
As soon as another SEC team comes close, they will get the hammer. In 2006 when the SEC started the ascent, the Bama alum that ran it never had any intention whatsoever of keeping a level playing field in the conference in order to establish dominance. Their work is just about complete, if not complete.
Either enjoy the scraps or watch something else.

Moron. When did Mike Slive attend Alabama?
Saban knows what kind of socks his graduate assistants wear on gameday. It isn't some secret formula, he just works harder than everyone else and pays attention to the details better than anyone else. That can't be copied because it's part of who he is as a person. He's only gotten better at it over the years. It's like asking why some tech startup can't just go compete with apple or microsoft. They don't have the poeple in place at the top

If you really believe that you are the fool. No way Saban has this level of sustained success at any other school.

Georgia basically had them beat the last two seasons but couldn't finish the games.

quote:2006 was when Bama fired mediocre Mike Shula a year removed from a 10 win season, was finally over scholly reductions, and was when Bama went and got NC winning and multiple SEC Title winning Nick Saban away from an NFL team. Instead of promoting a position coach, some up and comer at a smaller-time program, or hiring some coordinator... and hoping it works out like 99% of programs do.

That's the story of 2006. Bama's commitment to winning was extremely evident from the beginning of the Nick Saban era. Your vague, nefarious bullshite? Not so much
