The U.S. posted the widest November budget deficit on record as spending doubled revenue.
Outlays jumped 18 percent to $411 billion last month, while receipts were little changed at $206 billion, the Treasury Department said in a monthly report on Thursday. That left a $205 billion shortfall, compared with a $139 billion gap a year earlier.
The U.S. ran the largest deficit in six years in fiscal 2018, the first full year of Donald Trump’s presidency when his Republican party enacted a tax-cut package and raised federal spending for the military and other priorities. The measures have added to the growing federal deficit, which is forecast to push past $1 trillion by 2020 when the U.S. next holds presidential elections.

You mean things get more expensive as years go on?
Who gives a frick?!
Bad orange man for spending money on the military to keep our citizens safe.

If we didn’t have $20 billion in debt service, revenues would be just fine
Posted on 12/13/18 at 4:19 pm to AlaTiger
That's ok. Trump will file for bankruptcy and we will just not pay the workers. We can get Michael Cohen to threaten the unions and we will refinance with the Russian mob.

That debt just keeps getting higher.
We used to care about this. I remember.

Proof that Trump can even make LowT liberals care about the debt.

Let’s face facts, dumbass, if this were Obama you’d be livid. But hey, it’s the almighty Trump, so he can’t do anything wrong in your mind. Trump could frick your wife, and your only comment would be asking him if she was tight enough to meet his standards.

What?
It's already bankrupt? damn!
Taj Mahal second Mortgage or the Yahct? oh its gone too

What’s the trend if you compare November 2018 receipts to November 2017 receipts?

Or, that Trump can make his followers not give a shite about excessive government spending and still claim to be conservatives.
Same group who went apeshit when Obama overspent.
Idiots.

So our National Debt is all of Trumps fault? No, it is the fault of all of our elected officials over time.
It costs a lot of money to fund our military. Would you rather us not have a strong military?

OK, let me guide you through the art of thinking. I know it’s been a while, Cletus, but just try to keep up with me here. I will try to use as simple of words as I can.
So I said you would be livid if this were Obama; your response:
Where did I say that? I didn’t. I’m just holding everyone to an equal standard here.
Trump isn’t remotely responsible for anything bad that happens. He’s never done anything wrong.
I’d cut our military budget in half actually. We have two massive fricking oceans protecting us. The military budget is what I call corporate welfare.

is it all military spending accounting for the deficit? I dont think that is accurate. we need a strong defense but dont assume that is the only reason.

You're the dumbass that brought up Obama. Where did I initially say anything about him. I said this number is so big to everyone, but it isn't all of trump. And yes, it's 2018, military costs more than when Obama was in office, Bush, Clinton and so on. This debt is not all of Trump's so why blame his administration?
And yes, I personally do not care about the debt numbers or military spending as long as you, I and every other American are safe and funds are being used for what they are supposed to be used on.
