How much of that deficit is interest payments on the $20 trillion national debt? If administrations for the past few decades knew how to balance a budget, we wouldnt be in this mess. $10 trillion was added just in Obama’s 8 years. Its going to increasingly get worse because the interest on that debt is going to become a bigger and bigger percentage of the government’s annual expenses.

I love libs who rail on the current deficit.... but get triggered any time a reduction in spending is proposed anywhere other than defense.
The deficit!! But let in more welfare illegals so they can vote!
The deficit!! But don’t even think about welfare reform!!
The deficit!! But billions in foreign aid remains!!
The deficit!! But we need to relieve student debt!!
The deficit!! But free college!!
The deficit!! But universal healthcare by just paying for it!!
The deficit!! But subsidies to “green” energy companies!!
The deficit!! But omg! Govt budget austerity is horrible!! People will die!!
The deficit!! But the Tea party was racist!!
When you make up your mind on what you want to do instead of just using it to bash the president.. we can talk about deficit reduction. You need to start by the reviewing the praise by the democrat minority leaders in Congress for the last Omnibus.
Conservative people who protested around the country after billions upon billions of dollars was wasted in Obama’s stimulus was called hateful... racist...bigoted... dangerous...etc. Even though the protests were against the executive and legislative.
But now you are surprisingly agreeing with them all the sudden with deficit spending. My.. how far people come in 8 or 9 years.
Let’s work together in this thread and find budgets and programs to cut. Wadduya say?

They want to add that stuff and shrink the deficit. They can accomplish both just simply by taxing the evil 1% and the evil corporations. Surely Atlas won't shrug.
