A buddy texted asking who was in for going to Mexico City. Said the word is that we will play the Rams there. Anyone else hearing this rumor?

i'd be ok with it. As long as it's the Rams losing a home game.
Beats the hell out of waking up for a 10 am London kickoff.

How do these work if it is a home game and you are a season ticket holder? Do they just charge for 1 less game? Do you get the option to buy at your regular price through the Saints?

Not sure how your buddy would know anything
quote:
The NFL will stage four games in London and one in Mexico City next season, with the Jaguars, Chargers, Rams, Raiders and Buccaneers serving as hosts. When the games will be played and who the opponents will be won’t be announce until the spring, when the league schedule for 2019 is released. The Jaguars have a deal to play annually in London. The Chargers, Rams and Raiders are considered to be playing in temporary stadiums – the Los Angeles teams will move into a new facility being built in Inglewood that won’t be ready next year – and the Raiders will be leaving Oakland for Las Vegas in 2020.

I’d rather a September Montreal game than getting shot and raped in Mexico City.

I might go. I’ve been to Mexico many times and never had anything bad happen to me

Yeah I have no clue. He just said that they announced the home teams and rumor was that we will be the Rams opponent. I wanted to see if it had any legs.

They need to send the Packers and Panthers before they send Saints again.
They are only 2 teams not to play an international game.

Would not be a fan of that. I hate teams having to give up a home game to go play in a regular season game out of the country. It's such a massive inconvenience for the fans. If you want a team out there, just put one, but don't keep doing this stupid "home" game crap.
I had an idea a while back to eliminate the two wild card slots and add two divisions to each conference (16 teams total) with many of those teams being international and in the same region (say a division with teams in San Diego, San Antonio, Mexico City, Panama, and Guadalajara or a division with 4 european teams. One could even consider an NFL/CFL merger where we bring in 8 Canadian teams.
Or, what we could do is have an international version of the NFL with an Americas conference and a Eurasian conference. You could have, say, 2 divisions in Europe, 2 divisions in East Asia, 2 divisions in Canada, 1 division in Mexico/ the Caribbean/Central America and one in south America. You could move the Super Bowl back up a week and then have a game between the international champ and the Super Bowl champ.
You can dream big.
Or we can just play this stupid Mexico City game and trade Analzone and Taysom Hill memes.

Sounds like a curse more than a rumor!

Ravens Rams will be Mexico City.
quote:
1. Rams beat the Cardinals in London in 2017 and only 3 of 33 International Series games have been division games. I doubt they'd make LA play 2 home division games in London in 3 years.
2. Rams other home games are NO, CHI, TB, & CIN. TB already has a game in London next year. Rams-Bears and Rams-Saints are easy targets for SNF and MNF that NBC and CBS/Fox would want to protect.
3. Goodell loves the "growing the game globally" narrative, so it's a win-win for him to put a high-powered offense and elite defense as the "signature game" for the International Series in 2019. Especially since the only other option for Rams would be Cincinnati.

Mexico City is usually a MNF game. I wouldn’t really like it, but as long as I don’t lose a home game, I guess whatever.
They need to do away with Thursday night (except Thanksgiving) and London games. The games end up sucking.

frick playing a game at Azteca in that altitude and pollution. Playing there would be difficult physically and I bet recovery would be longer as well.
