Emery or Stingley will wear it in 2020.

I'm with you, but don't forget about WRs Chase and Marshall. I'm betting both have BIG 2019 campaigns.

Interestingly Noah Cain has made it clear he will wear #7 wherever he plays.

I know we got Emery so that doesn't matter, but you do make a point.

Delpit next year, then he gets drafted in the top 10, then Stingley the next 2 years and he gets drafted in the top 10.

The obsession we have as fans with certain numbers is baffling.

I get the 18 tradition but it really shouldn’t go beyond that.

No. Proven badasses only.

Delpit.

Why can’t Delpit keep 9?

Agreed.

...unless we get ourselves another Leonard Fournette type. That's the exception. Could happen again another time or two this century.

Wish this whole number thing would go away. Its very distracting and potentially divisive.

This. Not 18, because that is different. But the whole #7 thing needs to die.

Need to earn #7. Can't give it to someone that has never played a snap for LSU before *cough* Giles *cough*. Can't become a recruiting tool.

So Fournette shouldn't have worn #7?

Stingley is that level of recruit and to me it's his if he wants it.

Stingley wants 24 next year and Giles kind of killed the hype around 7

THIS ^^

As much as I love Stingley as a prospect...did we learn nothing from the Giles debacle this year?

Devin White said he is getting it. I don't see anyone bad enough to stop him.

That's what I think, just like Giles didn't earn it, damn that was a big miss.
