My house doesn’t have a fireplace, and we want one. Brick house, on slab. In Lafayette area.

What would this set me back? Anybody know someone who could do it? How long would it take?

I grew up with one and don’t mind cleaning it out everyday.

Seems like an expensive add on for South LA. My wife loves ours and we still only use it 7-8 times per year.

On an exterior wall? I've heard the gas ones that went through the wall are about 10k...I'd imagine 15k if you want something that requires a chimney.

Pretty large and expensive undertaking for a house in a place where it doesn't really get very cold

You need an electric fake fireplace furniture piece

It is, but it we use our fire pit outside almost everyday it’s below 65.

Something like this seems like the cheapest option. Wood or gas options.

My 4 year old loves it. It really is kind of nice, but we have always wanted a fireplace. It’s like the last thing on the list of stuff we wanted to do to this house when we bought it 6 years ago.

I'd sell my house and buy one with a fireplace before I spent 15k to put one in.

I don't think it will increase your home's value at all but we do enjoy ours a few times per year. Nothing like a cold Christmas morning and a crackling fire.

I’m burning it now in my fire pit. I chopped some of it for the smoker.

Ahhh man, ya gotta use old tires for the fire pit. You’re wasting all that good wood.
