It counts on record and affects ranking. It's a legitimate game. Based on your criteria, like 99% of games are meaningless. And why does the championship have meaning, because of a shiny trophy?

A good Citrus Bowl for Kentucky likely gives them a recruiting boost. And that means quite a bit when you’re trying to build something.
That said, I wouldn’t have blamed Snell or Allen for not playing. I do appreciate that they are because they feel like they have unfinished business.

Those are scheduled games. These are one-off extras played a month after the season ends for no other reason than to make a sponsor money while giving the players an extra chance to get hurt for $100 bucks in camping world coupons. If you can't see the difference then you're either being willfully obtuse or are just too stupid to reason with
