But man. They’re making it hard to dismiss completely. The official IG page for the SEC network just posted the award winners from the SEC. Conveniently leaving out the Butkus Award winner.....

Strange thing to do.

Now that I look, they haven’t posted about it all.

There's more to it than meets the eye.

You mean the one that has 4 of the 6 players shown being from Alabama?

Listen the SEC is LSU. It is 14 schools. No more, no less. So if you are unhappy with anything SEC then call LSU and demand an accounting for their inaction or whatever. That's the whole ridiculous thing about SEC misunderstanding. LSU and 13 other schools make the rules, judge and carry out the games, then reward the winners and divide up the profits. If you are not happy that means you are unhappy with LSU.

I mentioned this in a few other threads. Although possibly far-fetched, I see this kind of omission as a sign of LSU being somewhat blackballed. The #freeDevinWhite exposure culminating in Carville going in dry on Gameday publicly exposed the obvious systemic bias of the conference which some in the media agreed with. I’m certain the conference powers that be, primarily BAMA grads, weren’t too happy.

Sankey's comments today basically made every non-SEC fan cheer against LSU vs UCF.

It might be because the Butkus isn't associated with the other awards. Just like the Heisman isn't awarded at that ceremony.

Maybe they're disappointed because their bama candidate, Dylan Moses, didn't win. He was nominated even though 18 SEC linebackers had more tackles than him.

I won't say "anti-LSU bias," but more "up Alabama's arse bias."

To give them the benefit of the doubt, the SEC may not set out specifically to screw LSU, but too often it turns out that way. The permanent SEC East opponent situation is a perfect example. The rest of the SEC has nothing to gain by forcing a equal rotation because Auburn wants to play Georgia and the rest of the west get to play cupcakes. Consequently we get outvoted every time.
