re: 2015: Finished 10*-3 and the AD attempted to fire the head coach

he offense needs to improve. No questions about it. However a shite ton of things went against us on the offensive side of the ball this year. The OL injuries being the biggest. Which, when you throw in with all the new players, new QB coming in late, that compounds itself into a huge problem. I already said we need changes on that side the ball, starting with the WR coaches.
So expectations were exceeded as long as you lower them before the start of the season. Yeah, you've already said that.
It's no less stupid now than it was 2 minutes ago.

So, LSU is exceeding the lowered expectations that were set in Orgeron's first year?
Miles lowered the expectations his last few years. These expectations of O come with the territory of replacing a coach who you had to fire. Your schools all time winningest coach.
LSU performed like a school in its first year after firing a coach. In year 2, we saw improvement. Year 3, continue to trend up.

Do you think it will? I'm not trolling or trying to 'trap' you -- I'm curious.
I do not, despite better talent and a senior QB. That's why I'm unhappy. I did not imagine Orgeron would stand pat on offense, but that's what all indications point to: status quo for next year with cosmetic changes coming.
It looks like one WR coach gets replaced by a "QB coach" who has no college coaching experience, per the current rumors.
Regarding that senior QB... I feel that Burrow would have been a stone-cold-killer in Clemson's offense. Give Burrow that kind of system and he's a monster, IMO. Instead... well...

Getting fired for 10-8-9 win seasons is the opposite of lowering expectations.

Year two saw regression on both offense and defense. It's also status quo for the record. The only thing that is improved is the recruiting class, in December.

Saying less than 9 wins is unacceptable in no way makes 9-3 "exceeding expectations".
Color me shocked that you're making monumental logical leaps in order to form a straw man argument, yet again.

Trending up? 9-3 with a dubious offense is 'trending up' for LSU? That sounds like the status quo, actually.
Apparently, Miles' only real flaw was not putting pressure on the media. Had he hired one of the local good ole radio boys to troll the rant and use conflicts of interest regarding his coaching staff's family and "objective" reporter's marriage, he'd have been untouchable with a national title and another attempt for a second.

of course it will. You return every relevant player on offense, after having new players scattered all over this year, with an OL that couldnt stay healthy, with a QB that came into the program in july.
You have an offseason to get a healthy offensive line with additions of other new players that can help (biggest thing)
You bring in RBs that will help the talent pool at that position

Classic. Get called on your bullshite and the standard Lester response of "well, you just don't understand" comes out.
Your posts never fail to deliver the stupid, Earl.

I've owned my words.
Less than 9-3 is unacceptable. That makes 9-3 the minimum expectation. Tell me Earl, what does that make the win total that would be "exceeding" the expectation.
I'll wait for you to punch it into your calculator.

It was a very simple concept, and you didn't understand it. What the frick do you want me to say
I dont mind "being called on my bullshite" but if you cant understand my concise point then dont waste my time with your tough guy routine.

It’s hard to take you seriously when you consider
10-3 10-3 8-5 9-3 8-4 9-4 9-3*
“Upward trajectory”
It was years hearing about how Les was holding the offense back.
To spend 2 years without Les and the offense still sucks, I dont Really think you get excuses andmore.
10-3 10-3 8-5 9-3 8-4 9-4 9-3*

Your "concise point" has been torn to shreds in 1 post.
You're a joke Earl. It's time for you to own that.

Acceptable not good or great.
Do you go to restaurants that serve “acceptable” food very often?
How many times would You watch an acceptable Movie?

Yes, this is exactly how the rest of us view things Earl. Meeting minimum expectations is never something to be celebrated.
Does your boss give you that 10 cent raise you've been expecting for doing the bare minimum? No, no he doesn't.

Sammy, you think all wins and losses are the same. Does anything more have to be said about how fricking stupid you are?, No one takes you seriously with this shite. You are by far the dumbest fricking person I interact with on this board.
if this were a talk in real life id have you crawling back to your mommy crying. So idiotic and irrational

Idk I find most sports talks in real life go better
You just yell at each other and then get over it.
Online arguments are limited, and pettier.
Now if you’re saying last year’s 9-4 was sooooooo ducking bad that this year’s 9-3 is huuuuuge improvement I get That’s j wouldn’t say I whole heartedly Agree but I hnderstand Your point.
But I don’t think expectations of the program have been exceeded just expectations of O.
I dont Want the best LSU that O can give us, I want the best LSU.
The pressure is still on O. This isn’t something he can keep doing.
