The Tomb of the Unknowns in DC always floors me. To think that as I type this, there is a sentinel guarding those graves is incredibly moving.
A friend of mine’s son from Louisiana was a tomb sentinel. IIRC, he was the first from Louisiana. We traveled to DC to see his final walk. Also, on his off hours, we had him as a personal tour guide. Tomb sentinels, as part of their training, are required to know much of the history not only regarding the tomb, but Arlington cemetery etc. so it was a very informative, humbling trip.

Spooky as hell at dusk when nobody else is there.

For me, it was the Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach in Oregon. I just couldn't fathom the scale of it until I saw it in person. Absolutely stunning.

The physical beauty of San Diego/La Jolla.

La Jolla is amazing. Had to park about a mile uphill from the beach. Didn't care. View was constantly incredible and the air was 74 in mid-August.

Was there about 2 months ago. Was the best day on the Oregon coast I've ever seen.
Eta...
It's cool being on the beach there on a good low tide. Lots of pools are formed and there's lots of cool things to check out.

Yeah, I've seen pictures of people walking out to the rocks. Pretty cool.
I went in late February and was extremely fortunate to have a day of beautiful sunshine. I took some pics from Ecola with my phone that look like professional shots.

Grand Canyon literally took my breath away. Sort of scary for a 13 year old. Never been topped.

one world trade really blew my mind. standing there on the street looking up at it, and trying to envision that whole thing coming down. then imagine another one coming down. i couldn't even imagine the terror in that.
