Urban is the 2nd best of this era after Saban. Top 10 for sure, maybe top 5 all time.

Dabo is great and has built an impressive and sustainable program. He could get there, but isn’t yet

Completely forgetting that Meyer produced a 13-0 team at Utah, I see.

Don't forget the gold mine he inherited at Utah.

Those Mormon kids dwarf the talent down South.

And while we're talking about inheriting gold mines.

Deep South talent at LSU and Alabama...not to mention inheriting a Top 5 program all-time in Alabama.

Lets see Saban's resume if he stays at Michigan State?

We all know his NFL resume.

Lets not act like Meyer walked into made-to-win-bag-money factories and Saban didn't.

Winning huge at Alabama, especially when they don't have to win their Conference...with all that Southern talent and history isn't a Bill Snyder job.

It's expected. Saban has all the controls and safeguards and talent to not fail.

Hell, even their schedule is retarded despite being the king of the hill. They play only 7 SEC teams, 4 scrimmages against Community Colleges and 1 home game against someone like Louisville of Duke.

SEC has fricking 14 teams...why the frick are teams playing 7 Conference games?

This isn't a Conference...it's a loose Confederacy.

I don't know why the league and opponent fans puts up with this...the home office and absurd always in their favor Alabama schedules and Gary Danielson.

Urban turned around all the programs he went to. Utah beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl before he left and then Alex Smith was drafted number 1 overall. People forget that before he got to Florida and Ohio State they were having very mediocre to bad seasons.

What Dabo did at Clemson is great in its own right too.

But in fair comparison, Urban went to different programs and made them championship teams. Not saying Dabo couldn't do that, but we won't really know unless he switches schools at some point.

Even with as good as Dabo has been I still have a hard time buying him. He's recruited well but even he said before the FSU game "they've beaten us in the recruiting rankings every year". He's made some excellent hires, has excellent support, and hit 2 incredible homeruns on his QB recruits. 5 years ago it looked like FSU was poised to be in the playoff every year but a few bad hires and a bunch of shithead recruits and FSU sunk like a rock. Dabo needs several more years of longevity to be in Urban's class. He went on a run with Watson and he's staying on a run with Sunhsine but it'll be interesting to see if they stay top 5 caliber after Trevor leaves.

Urban Meyer is a great coach... one of the best all time. He also has a history of leaving with programs in all kinds of dysfunction. When Meyer left UF he had just recruited some of the most talented players in the country on paper. And yet they fell off a cliff in a hurry with all kinds of program turmoil. Meyer is like making a deal with the devil. He will sacrifice anything to win.

Dabo is just a different cat. I don't know if he would find the same success in the SEC or Big 10. I think he would be successful, but I don't know that he would be dominant. I think Dabo errs on the side of bringing in lower rated, higher character kids when he can. He understands that too much entitled or low character talent can spoil a program. You need some of those guys, but outside of Saban at Bama, usually things fall apart if there are too many of those types of egos in the room.

Urban is probably a better coach, but for program building, give me Dabo all day everyday.

Venables is an absolute stud and worth every penny of the 2mil they pay him. Idk if hes a Beamer type with little interest in a HC spot, but lets talk about daboo if he fails to replace him with another guy like that
