I’m surprised it’s murder. What made the DA file those charges?

ETA: Never mind. I now see that the grand jury upped the charges. I didn’t know they could do that.

A Dallas County grand jury decided on a murder indictment for former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger.

Best thing that could have happened for her. Chances of her getting convicted are less than 10% now.

The victims parents picked a group of race baiting lawyers. The parents have been super dram about it all with them. They got upset that Trump hasn't said anything. One of their lawyers is being investigated for potentially practicing TX law without a TX Law lic. Lee Merit (s?). They are about to get the case pushed out of Dallas County which isnt good for them.

And now the defense just has to do a good job of pushing the "Mistake of Fact" law, and the AD will need to prove otherwise if the jury has a tad bit of reasonable of doubt.

Congrats all you race baiters out there. Yall just screwed the pooch, but of course yall will be so ignorant that yall will get out to destroy stuff if/when she walks. I think she should have gotten manslaughter, and did some time. Yall pushed the envelope, and made it harder for yourselves. Congrats!!

Ohhhhh and the new AD voted in doesnt start until next month either. Sucks for that guy....

You people are so fricked up. Do you honestly believe what you wrote and that, on the .00001 chance she did it on purpose, that her story is what she came up with ahead of time? If, for some odd reason, a cop wanted to murder someone there are 900 better ways to do it.

I believe the chances are 99% she knew the guy, and it was a premeditated act. As for better ways for a cop to kill someone, this is real life not TV, she doesn't seem that bright, and there have been a lot of murders committed by cops with less thought put into them than what is evident here.

How many times have you got off the elevator on the wrong floor? Factor that in after a a 12hr shift and I can picture it happening.

Never ended up at the wrong house, barracks/dorm or floor when I worked shift work.

The dude also had a unique doormat iirc. She did it on purpose and her story/crime was premeditated IMO.

Congrats, but acting like it's improbable for others is just naive. Im sure there are things you've done that others could say "what a dumbass, i've never done that before".

Ever live in a place that every floor looks exactly the same? Cause thats how big apt complexes look like today. They have interviewed residents that have said they have mistakenly gone to the wrong door/floor. So they will be key for the defense to push the "Mistake of Fact" law.

Nothing points to them knowing each other...yet, so lets deal with facts. If they had then it would have been somewhat "leaked" or in the "air" by now.

He did have a red floor mat, but if you arent paying attention you are looking at the floor. Or carrying thing in your arms, which hasnt really been reported all she had. I dated a girl that lived in one of these types of places, and after you walk for miles to get to where you think you are you may get turned around. She had to put a big arse reef of her school on the door for her to know which door was hers. Only thing that I looked for.

She killed the dude. Difference. Sux but nothing other than made up stuff about them knowing each other, points to murder. Just sad events. Until there is something different then I'll stick to my opinion.

Heck a drunk driver that kills people doesnt get charged with murder, and up to this point she isnt worse than someone who does that.

You got some pent up anger issues from what I can tell. Negative nancy. Ha.

Sad thing is this isn't really a DPD Cop issue as she was off duty. If anything it's a DP Department issue, since they've been managed so bad for yrs that she, just like others, have been overworked. She gets convicted for murder, without some weird she knew him prior stuff coming out, and the cops are going to be in worse shape thinking they got no support. DPD will have a harder time hiring officers then they have.

You really need to learn the legal definition of what murder is. If you knew that, you'd change your mind. Its Negligent Homicide nothing more.

So busting in someone’s place and then shooting them out the gate isn’t murder now days, as long as you say it’s an accident?

Ohhhh and look into the "mistaken of fact" law. Not able to be used much, but this case has it written all over it.

it's a law theory that has been around since foreves so no.."now adays" about it.

Seems about right for morons in Texas to let a woman who murdered someone in his own apartment walk free. These are the same morons who gave the world George W Bush, Rick Perry, and Ted Cruz.
