LOL he has 3 years left! Extension talk doesn't happen until next year.

He earned a raise but not neccessarily an extension unless it has a relatively small buy out. Would be a win win for all parties involved

As long as the buyout portion is within reason, I can live with it. Apparently, other programs can negative recruit against you if your head coach does not have at least five years on his current contract.

WHY?

He exceeded the media pundits preseason predictions? So now 9-3,3rd in west is raise worthy? Damn, the standards sure have fallen since firing miles

Yup. Mike D said both "money and years" will be restructured. Whatever that means

I would be ok with an extension and an annual raise IF IF IF his buyout is brought down to a much smaller and manageable number.

Getting to and *winning* a NY6 bowl is a decent improvement, and buy lowering his buyout it will give us an out should he suck.

Whatever. Run it into the ground

All one has to do is look at the CFP rankings to see this. LSU is only #10 - falling apart at the seams.

And whatever you do don't look at the recruiting rankings for 2019 and 2020. shite team is only ranked #4 for both years.

I'll be back I have to go cry now.

Cry from laughing so much at some of the idiots on this message board.

Up to two years extension, a nice bonus no changes to buy out is playing safe. But in the world of leveraging and optics for recruiting purposes. I would not be surprised with three years. Messing with the buy out is premature in my opinion. But if it works out it works out.

Smaller? His buyout is tiny after this year.

But an increase in contract length or sum of buyout has not yet been earned in my opinion. Nobody is going to offer O more money than what LSU is paying him.

At this stage in his contract, you either fire him or extend him. A firing isn’t warranted at this point. I don’t like it but that’s just the way things are in college football.

Les was fired for 9-3 seasons and bad offense

Two years later, it is now worthy of an extension

No, let the last year of his contract play out, if he goes 9-3 again next year, give him one more year. 9-3 shouldn't be celebrated, sounds pretty meh to me

Miles did it when he didn’t even know if he was going to still be employed come signing day.

Miles had a huge buyout and like 4-5 years left on his contract when he was fired.

He has nine wins and the 75 best offense. The last guy had nine wins and a better offense, but we fired him?

Do you not even see how messed up this is and how giving a extension before the bowl will open LSU up to ridicule if we lose?
