Best Electric Shaver (for Men) ?

I haven't bought one of these in a decade or more, I am putting one on my Christmas list. I have very coarse facial hair. Previous el-cheapo electric shavers haven't gotten the job done.
Any recommendations?

You would seem like the lip wristed type that would use an electric razor

Braun series 7 or 9 has a good coupon/rebates on amazon or Walmart right now. No experience with it though.

I've had 3 over the years, a Braun, Norelco and one who's name escapes me and not one of them gave me a good shave.
The last one I had came with 3 floating heads and it did conform to the contours better than the first 2 I had, but still managed to give a so-so shave in the end.
Now I just use an old style single blade with double edges in a Merkur razor and get a nice, close shave. That is, when I do decide to shave.

I prefer the foil razors to the 3 head razors. Phillips Norelco has a good one that I use

The Philips Norelco is what I used to have and would not cut my facial hair. I have very thick Viking-like facial hair.
I may not be able to use any electric shaver. I was hoping someone here also of viking descent has already figured out this riddle and has a specific model that works.

I've been using a Braun series 5 for a year now. Best electric shaver I have ever owned.

Andis Cordless T-Outliner, adjust the blade and it will almost be like a razor shave. not quite, but it will go through any beard with ease

I wish I could use or recommend one, my facial hair is so tough it can choke down a bushhog

I use the Braun 7 before showering and then use soap and a regular razor in the shower if I want a close shave... that’s been my routine for years. The Braun 7 has been the best electric razor I’ve found but it still won’t get you near as close a shave as any non electric razor. Finally decided over Thanksgiving to just let it grow. Now I’m looking for a good trimmer.

First you have to decide if you want rotary cutters or foil. Having used both, I prefer the foils. I think they do a better job of efficiently cutting the hair (though the rotary cutters are probably a little better at getting around the curves such as your chin)
At various points I have a Braun, Norelco and Panasonic shaver. Personally I like the Panasonic the best. Braun's are very good as well, but I feel like they are a tad too expensive for what you get. I feel the Panasonic is the best value/quality match. Still, there is nothing wrong with a Braun if you want to go that route.
One thing, I think all the the cleaning/charging accouterments are an unnecessary waste of money. Not that they don't work, just that they are really not needed.
