if O had taken over Texas instead of Herman, do you think Texas would be playing for the Big 12 championship?
Yes. They beat exactly one good team in order to get there.

My problem, Dave England, with Rivals or anyone else is that no one REALLY knows how good a recruit is until he has played and perhaps finished his career.
All these star-ratings, and look, I invest in them, as well, or class-rankings are all speculation. They may be educated speculation, but still speculation.
That is my only quibble comparing Fisher to Orgeron at this stage.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone could watch Saturday night's game and truly conclude there was some huge talent differential there between those two teams and that the only reason A&M won was due to superior coaching overcoming their lack of talent. Yet, people are still running with that narrative left and right.

I found the hire of a DL coach to help LSU solve a offensive problem to be very surprising. I’ve found the hire of an OC 20 years removed from performing that function on a regular basis surprising. I wish I could say that I found LSU having an offense ranked about 74th in the nation surprising.

Why ever fire a coach then if they are never to blame?

Posters like Dave England are simply trying to cover their asses for all the O hate they spewed on here during the summer. LSU was better this season than they expected, and they can't stand it.

How fricking stupid are you?
Orgeron stayed at LSU a grand total of TWO DAYS before he got “homesick” and then he headed to Natchitoches.
He negative-recruited LSU before and he’ll do it again after he’s fired.
He’s no more an LSU man than you’re an astronaut.
It’s amazing how You propaganda and spin artists have so many guillible Louisiana Cajuns and redneck ignoramuses thinking that Orgeron loved the Ole War Skule, played football here for four years, and graduated.

Dumbasses think recruiting is over. I’ll bet you lifetime ban oregeron has a higher rated class than jumbo. 25 recruits

Get that noise out of here. There is unlikely an LSU fan out there who actively WANTS LSU to lose. No matter an opinion on Coach Orgeron's hire or tenure, or how badly the offense has played, or anything else. When the ball is tee'd up inside the white lines, even the Anti-Os or whatever other epithet you want to use, want to win.

he turned down an offer to be DL coach at LSU so he could be DL coach at tennessee.
loves LSU so much he took an equal position elsewhere in conference when given the opportunity.
is on record as saying USC is “home” when he was unemployed and at a HS game in LOUISIANA.

What leads you to believe O could have taken Texas' talent and competed for a conference championship?

I’m confused, so what made you say they were talented in the first place if you weren’t actually familiar with the players?
I was familiar with the players. LSU lost their starting left tackle the week before the season started.
Injuries piled up like a mash unit. Brumfield was never the same after being injured. Charles was converted from a guard to a tackle and he may not be athletic enough to play there. Cush did ok with the exception of the bama game. He probably had to start a year early. Deculus is listed as a tackle but would probably be more suited to be a guard.
Hines and Lewis played well enough.
I never thought that injuries would pile up like they did. I thought a couple of the guys would be better than they were.
Do you honestly see a huge gotcha here. I'm sorry I don't see it.

Would you like me to link all of the posts I made predicting 10-11 wins for LSU? It was actually the O pumpers who were trying to lower expectations.

Time and time again it has been shown that rankings do provide an accurate depiction of talent. Sure there are exceptions, but rankings are what they are because they tend to pan out more often than not. And O pumpers have a love-hate relationship with recruiting rankings. O signs a highly ranked class? They will tout them all day. O signs a low ranked class? They say that stars aren't everything.

I agree. There are several posters on this board who aren't actually LSU fans.

You whiny bitches will always complain about Coach O, so it doesn't matter. You are "all experts" with no expertise. 16k posts proves that you are here just for instant gratification. Look at me, I can talk shite about a HC . Thumbs up. Feel better? Get a life losers
