I'm not going to expect them to try to diffuse much if a guy is holding a gun with his finger near the trigger. They supposed to wait to be shot at first?
Most use of force protocols allow them to use deadly force in that situation.
In 4 pages not a single person linked or quoted anything indicating the dead gang banger in camo was not the shooter, other than a pic with RBIC Sharpton and VRBIC Jackson.
Am I missing something?

And active duty Army, active in his Church, etc. Apparently very much a stand up guy in the community who was shot down needlessly.
Problem is that many of us are fatigued with the press and rent-a-mob playing the same ole' song with people who are complete pieces of zhit (Trayvon, Mike Brown, etc>) who righteously get shot, so when you have that EXTREMELY RARE incident where a good guy gets shot, in many cases we are simply numb.

The police came out a couple days after the shooting and said that the dead man might not have been the shooter and said the suspect is still at large.

Some teens were fighting at the mall and possibly started shooting. Hoover police fired back killing at least one of the teens and wounding others. It's unclear who fired first at this point. The city is just taking precautions since the media is probably about to start hyping this as another "innocent black child mudered by racist PO-lease"
He was a member of the military who had a legal concealed carry and tried to use it to stop a shoot out that was occurring in the mall between people he did not know.
The cops shot the guy trying to stop it with his legal firearm.
Its a sad deal, but if you're a cop responding to a shooting involving young black males and have no idea there is a "good guy" also shooting, it would be pretty easy to think he's the bad guy.
Really sad and I'm sure there was a way around it, but I don't think this was intentionally racist.

The family spun the story to say he was an officer in the Army home for the Thanksgiving Holiday. This is 100% false.
Correct. He washed out during training. A few more details for anyone catching up:
1. Hoover PD handed the investigation over to ALEA stating a conflict of interest because one of the witnesses interviewed was the cousin of the Hoover police chief.
2. Hoover has come out and said that there is body camera footage of the incident, but it’s release is up to ALEA.
Police get called to a shooting, see this guy brandishing his gun, and he is killed. I think it’s going to come down to that body camera footage, and whether or not they told him to drop it, or just shot him on sight. No comment on whether or not that should make a difference, but that’s what it’s going to be about. This city council meeting makes me think that they have not received good news from someone.

Honey, his facebook did more for that image than anybody here or the city ever thought about!

He was a member of the military

had a legal concealed carry

The cops shot the guy trying to stop it with his legal firearm.

I thought it was given to ALEA from Jefferson County for that reason, with the new incoming sheriff having a relative being a witness.
See this is why you can’t believe anything. Too many stories out there and no one knows what to believe

The Hoover PD is going to get hell for this, and I'm not so sure they don't deserve it.
They deserve it for botching it from the get go. They created a lot of this themselves.

This is what I know.
There was a shooting and the police shot and killed someone they believed to be an active shooter. Turns out, the person they shot was not the active shooter, he was supposedly helping people get to safety.
The active shooter has not yet been caught.
It sucks that the wrong person was shot and killed, but I can't form an opinion because I don't know why the police thought he was the active shooter.
If the police did shoot him and it was a situation where protocol was broken and it could have been avoided then I hope the police receives proper punishment.
If it was a situation that was unavoidable or the person who was shot, didn't obey the police, giving them reason to believe they were the shooter then it's an unfortunate situation in which a family lost a loved one and a police has to live the rest of his life with the fact he shot and killed an innocent person.
That's all I think anyone can say at this point.

Hoover police issued another clarification, saying Bradford simply had a gun in his hand: "Earlier, we stated that Mr. Bradford 'brandished' a gun. To clarify, the word 'brandish' was used because Mr. Bradford had a gun in his hand as police officers responded to the active shooter situation between mall patrons.
-Hoover PD
" But to "brandish" -- according to most definitions -- means to wave or show a weapon in an aggressive or menacing way. Bradford was actually trying to help people to safety when he was shot, said his family's attorney, Ben Crump. Crump also said Bradford had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
-Family Attorney

He also said the city is in the process of requesting a meeting with the Bradford family.
He is the Mayor of Hoover...

Benjamin Crump is in no way, shape, or form, a credible source for any information whatsoever. Especially at this stage of the process.
