I think we should pick him up. Another weapon and a checkdown for Drew. B.Watson will probably retire.

I know it is a bit early but let's give Dan Arnold a chance to prove himself.. I think he is going to be successful.

No, he will cost too much for someone who can't stay healthy

Also, Brees has proven that he doesn't need an All-World TE to win

I think Drew has evolved as a QB since losing Jimmy. Not sure if people remember him and Graham's last few seasons together but I dont miss Drew keying in on Graham no matter the coverage.

We definitely need a respectable option but an elite caliber TE could be something that comes with just as much offset as potential gain.

We have plenty of in house guys to spend money on.
Hill, Arnold, draft pick and a vet TE free agent will do just fine.

This.

Gronk will likely retire. If he doesn't retire, he'll be too expensive. We have other needs and other places to spend money. We have other options - Arnold is looking good, Watson will play until he's 90, and we could always draft a TE like we thought we might this year.

if only Witten didnt retire...Goedert might have fell further down the draft to a more realistic trade up position for us.

Watson to mentor + Hill/Arnold as cheap depth + potential stud Dallas

Yeah I think Dallas is going to be a good one and would have fit perfectly

Some notable 2019 FA TEs:

Tyler Eifert
Jared Cook
Lance Kendricks
Jesse James
CJ Uzomah
Jeff Heuerman

All of those guys are a gamble really

Overpaying for a TE whose body is quickly breaking down.... yeah, great strategy. Ask the Packers how that is working out with Jimmy Graham.

Yeah I hated the last year or so. I know the numbers were there but he relied on Jimmy way too much and would force it to him.

To be fair Graham was our only elite reviving option while he was here.

Our game has evolved adding the RBs we have. Pierre Thomas is still in my mind the GOAT screen pass RB, but Kamara is still great at that and adds other passing elements to the RB game. Also Thomas is probably the best WR we’ve had in a while.

He may not declare and is not even the most highly regarded TE on his own team, but if Hockenson from Iowa is available in the third or fourth I hope we trade up for him as our next TE. He can block and be a weapon for us.

Getting Gronk is like getting Arron Hernandez after he gets out of jail. Best years behind him.
