Federer vs. Gasquet on clay.

Is it 2005?

Looks like Zverev finally found someone he can beat.

Farewell Daveeed

He had a hell of a run for a 5'9 guy with very little shot-making ability. His career shows how much you can achieve with consistency, stamina, and mental strength.

It seems to be a given that he's the best player ever without a grand slam title, but I'm not 100% sold on that. He reached 1 slam final (RG), where he lost 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 to Nadal. Out of 7 Masters final appearances, he only won 1 of those, beating Jerzy Janowicz in Paris.

I'm sure you could make an argument for someone who reached greater heights, but lacked the consistency. Maybe someone who made a few slam finals, or won a few Masters, or both.

I was actually surprised to see that Soderling only had 1 Masters final appearance, and he beat Monfils in Paris.

Much respek to Daveed. Amazing he could get to #3 in the world. He probably doped a little bit, but the guy was the consummate pro and fighter.

Here is some nerd material for you. Yellow line is Madrid. Red line is Monte Carlo.

Ferrer seems a lot like Michael Chang. A grinder who just consistently gets the ball back, but doesn’t have any rest good weapons.

Berdych seems like maybe the only guy that is best to not win one.

Berdych is a good one. A lot of people cite Marcelo Rios. I wasn't watching the sport much then, so IDK. Tsonga is another that comes to mind. Who else hovered in that 5-10 range much of their career?

Instead of me guessing and making assumptions... can you answer these questions?

Those are serves and not groundstrokes, correct?

Why are the pre-bounce speeds so different? I think I might know why.

Good question, I wasn't paying attention as to exactly what shots go into those numbers. Pre-bounce is probably what you think -- altitude.
