I honestly think they aren’t as good as that ranking right now.
Better than last year but struggled with la tech and the mid major team before that.

I think those two teams are actually pretty good. La Tech pretty much dominated Wichita State the whole game and we beat them basically without our best player in Naz. La tech and UNCG may both make the NCAA tournament this year. UNCG was a tourney team last year and almost beat Gonzaga.

UNCG is a really good team, and LA Tech is certainly looking like one as well.

Right now, other than Duke and Kansas, it's hard to say who is really good and who isn't because not many teams have played tough opponents. For instance, Virginia is #4 (and getting 1st place votes) even though they've played no one worth a shite. If you go by RPI rankings (which don't mean all that much now) LSU is #4 and they have played the 11th strongest schedule to date.
Polls in basketball are virtually meaningless any way. We'll have better idea of this LSU team after this week (particularly if they meet Florida St.)
The pessimist says: LSU struggled to beat La. Tech at home and isn't that good.
The optimist says: LSU was still able to get a win despite playing their worst game of the season (Awful 3pt and FT%; outrebounded, leading scorer virtually a non-factor)
The reality is they are probably somewhere in between right now.
