Armageddon is a good movie and so is Manchester by the Sea.

Pretentious movie viewers suck.

It surprisingly took me a long time to realize it, but the whole Independence crash sequence defies just about everything we understand about physics. Since when does a shuttle crash like an airplane in zero gravity?

Don't the astroid have its on gravitational pull? Maybe that's a dumb question but I don't know anything about space.

Yeah...and let’s land a modified space shuttle on an asteroid :...and ride around in a souped up moon buggy.

You forgot...let's bring a giant, remote controlled machine gun to the asteroid for no reason. Were they expecting to find hostile aliens they'd have to kill?

Also, he's got space dementia.

I asked Michael why it was easier to train oil drillers to become astronauts than it was to train astronauts to become oil drillers and he told me to shut the f**k up. So that was the end of that talk. [Does Michael Bay voice] “You know, Ben, just shut up, OK? You know, this is a real plan.” I was like, “You mean it’s a real plan at NASA to train oil drillers?” and he was like, “Just shut your mouth!”

Did you see how they were maneuvering like fighter jets around the space station as the space station was loudly exploding?

There's a great Michael Bay quote about that in the article I linked:

“I know there’s no fire in space, but it is a movie, and most people don’t know that.”

That article was incredible. I laughed my arse off at how much of a pretentious prick Michael Bay is and how possibly drunk Ben Afflac called out his stupidity and arrogance in the commentary.

It’s all about money now, people would rather go see the same old Superhero or kids movie and all the good movies struggle or turn a weak profit

For that type of movie...Independence Day kicks it’s arse all over town. It’s like comparing Citizen Kane to No Holds Barred.

Deep Impact was much better as well. The scene with Tia and her dad by the beach when the tide got pulled out hits home.
