When we deport these people, it needs to be that if they illegally re-enter the US, it is under a penalty death.

It is amazing how much you get triggered by a simple statement of the law.

Don’t like the law? Work to change it.

THIS guy was deported for criminal activity, and I agree that there should be severe sanctions for re-entry.

Countdown to sky-screaming from those who cannot bear hearing facts that they do not like. 3 ... 2 ... 1 .....

If he murdered someone, shouldn’t he be in jail, rather than just dropped off across the border?

Nice wall of text that says nothing.

1st - you linked an immigration lawyers website and called it a "statement of the law."

2nd - in this "statement of the law" the remaining here unlawfully/illegally is directed at those who applied through the proper means to secure a visa and overstayed their welcome. This is how these law firms make money. They re-submit the paperwork and get paid to deal with the legal ramifications.

3rd - if your little "Illegal presence isnt illegal" then why on this green earth do we deport people that are here illegally? Why did obama issue an executive order to no longer detain illegals captured inside the non border states? After all, if their presence isnt illegal, then why would he have to issue an executive order?

Ill hang up and listen.

Hank, did you actually say that being in this country illegally isn't illegal? B/c , as you should know, that is not correct.

Illegal entry is a criminal offense. Thereafter, it is a civil matter. Most people use the term “illegal” in reference to criminal matters.

I linked to that lawyer’s site because it was a concise and accurate summary, written to be comprehensible to a layman.

Why do Aggies make a big deal of their class rings? I have never understood this...you are not an academy - not even remotely close.

No. I said it is not a crime. Please see preceding post.

EDIT: You will note that dimwit Tader linked to me saying EXACTLY this, rather than the mischaracterization earlier in the thread.

bullshite you got confused on the talking points and didn't realize that the talking point was "Being in this country illegal isn't a crime" and said "being in this country illegally isn't illegal" instead.

I have no idea what you are trying to say here.

I choose my words quite carefully. Where have I ever said “being in this country illegally isn't illegal"? I’ve not. The Potato Head said that and falsely attributed it to me. His link shows my actiual language.

Wrong. Illegal entry is a crime. Illegal presence is not.
Call it a “talking point” as much as you like.

It is a simple statement of the law. Pretending otherwise just makes one look ignorant.
