I'm always interested in good cooking set ups. Wife and I just moved and the kitchen is what really sold me on the house.
I wish I had 2 ovens, and I'm also getting used to having the stove in the center island, but the downdraft vent works much better than I expected.
I know some of y'all have some impressive kitchens, let's see them.

Oh yeah I bring it on myself. I definitely have kitchen/house envy when I go back home and visit friends. But then I remember if I wanted that house/kitchen I'd have to be in Baton Rouge...

I was about to say, y'alls kitchens are way too clean, and i wonder if you actually cook on it. We try to keep on top of ours, but we are outgrowing our house, and we have kids stuff everywhere.

Thank you! Three years later and I still love our choices.

Some friends and really good people in Lusaka, Zambia.
Please never take for granted how blessed we are (if affluence is a blessing).
And folks, my comments are not meant to be judgmental. In the USA, we are better off than 95% of the world. That is not our fault - winners in the gene pool lottery. Our house was built in the 1970s. We gutted the kitchen when we bought the house at retirement two years ago. A pretty kitchen is not required to cook good food. We have lived in houses with 8X10 foot galley kitchens for a family of four, with two football player sons and did fine. Also there are only two of us, both cooks who grew up in science (me chemistry and her nutrition) labs, so we keep it very clean. It is easier with no family left living with us.
Bla, Bla, Bla

The kitchen pics I posted were taken by the kitchen designer after everything was complete. It has a few more "things" around now, much to my dismay. But I can still get it looking like that if you give me an hour!

No kids at home, just my husband and two dogs and me.
And MD, I don't take for granted how much we have. I am always thankful.
Also, to you young'uns, I waited a really, really long time to have my dream kitchen. I lived with Formica counters and vinyl floors (how tragic!) for years, and I turned out some pretty good meals in a small, unattractive space. It was worth the wait because I thoroughly appreciate and enjoy having the room to arrange things so that it all works!

Well, I figured being on the food board it would be a little more honest.
Like I said for my pic that was from the listing, but I do keep mine very clean. I finally have enough cabinets to where I can have very little out on the counters.

For real. People posting kitchens looking like they came out of a damn catalog.

We're in the middle of a DIY kitchen remodel on a house built in 1955 that has, as far as I can tell, never been updated. We currently have cement board for flooring. I'll post pics when done but it could be a while.
