North Louisiana is baptist country. The Louisiana Baptist Convention opposed this, as they do all forms of gambling. It's why it will be a struggle for Louisiana to pass sportsbooking.

Just some random information because I was bored.
I added up all the Parish results and if it would've been a state wide vote, it would've passed with 59.41% for it (848,299 Yes / 579,692 No).
Orleans Parish had the highest Yes % at 73.17%. West Carroll Parish had the lowest Yes % at 37.18%.
The closest "Yes" Parish was East Feliciana where it passed by 56 votes. The closest "No" Parish was Jeff Davis where it failed by 100 votes.

You see all these parishes voting this down and wonder if Louisiana will ever legalize weed.
