LINK

1. Les Miles, actor, former coach: His connections are too obvious to ignore. He and Long worked together at Michigan as assistant coach and associate AD, respectively, from 1988-94. Miles has plenty of Big 12 experience having coached Oklahoma State from 2001-04. He would bring immediate credibility as a coach, recruiter and face of the program with no NCAA baggage. Miles, who turns 65 on Saturday, is interested, but there has been no contact between he and Long.

I hope Les gets it. He deserves to get another shot.

Why not Maryland. They need a good clean guy that's above reproach right now. Les would be a perfect fit there.

Will they hire a 65 year old guy whose been out of football 2+ years? I hope so but I doubt it.

Since he has been taking our money and sitting on his sorry azz, he goes through a motion annually.

1. Kansas, even, does not want him as their HC;

2. He is not really looking to work when he can continue trying to rehab his broken image at LSU's expense. Miles, contrary to what the duped believe, is a pretty vindictive guy and his actions are what should be watched.

3. IMO, he is washed up and began to coast when Alleva gave him the extension when Arkansas rumors were put out by Miles' agent.

Miles quit and he cannot get back up.

Could you imagine the melt if Les went to Maryland and kept Canada as OC (and actually let him run his offense)?

I think the big 12 would be a good place for Miles to end up...Say whatever you want about the guy and his coaching ability but theres one thing he can do quite well and thats recruit his arse off. I honestly wouldnt be surprised to see miles end up doing well wherever he went. Ever hear guys like Tyrann and Odell speak about him? His players would freaking run through a brick wall for him.... really hope he gets another shot. He could make waves in the big 12, fareal...

See how well he recruits his arse off without the LSU brand behind him in a state not known for producing football talent. Let's be honest. Before LSU he made Ok State mildly successful.
Les isn't taking a job where the odds are stacked against him at a program like Kansas unless he's bored silly.
Programs that are better positioned aren't going to hire a 65 year old coach. He's been "fulmerized". He's done.

That would be a lateral move for Kansas....Les' best days as a college football coach have passed him by. Leave him to his Dr. Pepper commercials.

I hope he gets the job. I want to see how bad he is without the talent LSU attracts.

Les would be crazy to even think about that. Kansas will never amount to anything. You will not be able to get any quality staff to go there and no players will go there unless you get some high end staff that are proven.

Recruiting will be difficult in the Big 12 like it always is for Kansas.

I would lobby for the Maryland job. He ran a clean program, liked to be a father figure to players, and good dude all the way around. I hope he goes to Maryland.

Why not just wish him well and hope he gets one of them. The guy is 65, and isn’t career building.

He’s 65 and sprays Dos Equis on the field for commercials. I think it’s worth the risk to him.
