A QB "going through progressions" is old methodology. Tua doesn't do it.

Haskins doesn't do it either. Most top college passing programs have dropped that mess.
They have a primary receiver before the snap. They hit him quick. ONLY if the primary is covered do they go thru progressions.
Ensminger has Burrow stalled (on every pass play) with a method older than E is. Get rid of the damn ball! Screw the progressions! Elite 2018 QB's make the defense react to them - not the other way around.

I think this is true. But not every good or good enough QB is a Tua.

Yea there is something not right with this offense. It look horrible for most of the season. Mr Burrow didn’t handle pressure well. It looked like a les miles defense to me. Coach O was wrong for throwing the players under the bus. He picked a third string reject to be qb

So... they do go through progressions?

Man, is that how progressions work?!?
Don’t be niaeve. He doesn’t have him going 1,2,3 back to 1. You can bash E for a lot of things with this game, and the offense all season really, but that’s not one of them.

If you want to succeed in the NFL, which is the goal of every college QB, you better be able to go through your progressions. Pre-snap read is important but that read is no always right.

So, your contention is that, in the "old days", the QB didn't have a set place to start his progressions? He just started looking around, willy nilly?
Dude, what you described is how it's always been done.

This is BS, locking on to your 1st choice will cause a lot more interceptions, and broken up passes.
As far as Bama is concerned, Their WR's get great separation because they are elite, allowing Tua to make easy throws.
The exception was LSU, that's why Bama didn't have 28 points in the 1st quarter as they did in 5 of their other games.

Dwayne Haskins and Tua will be Marcus Mariota and Jamieis Winston in the NFL.

You think the LSU QB goes through progressions when the primary target is open?

‘Tua made a sandwich on three of his drops. Took a nap on the rest

It’s almost like Steve hasn’t been an offensive coordinator in 20 years......

Have you conceded to the fact Haskins is indeed better that Burrow? Last time I heard from you, you stated time will show that you were right in your opinion Burrow is better than Haskins. Well some time has passed and I want to know has your opinion changed?

This is the dumbest damn thing I've read regarding offense on the rant, and that is pretty bad. You basically say they don't use progressions unless the primary target isn't there. THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF PROGRESSIONS!!!
Burrow just didn't look confident throwing to his primary most of the night and held the ball WAY to long. Against Bama you have 3 seconds if your lucky, and if your primary isn't there you might come to your second progression, but then you're toast if you don't throw it away or have a running lane to scramble.
Burrow's biggest problem against Bama besides the poor protection/blocking was that he lacked confidence to run the ball with authority. He had zone read keeps available and had the chance to tuck and run out of the pocket a few times, but tried to move around and buy time instead. He looked lost, and that's coaching.

LSU stil haven't adapted to modern day football. If Saban can adapt why can't LSU

I know You’re getting downvoted but I agree that we probably ask our QB to do a lot more than most QBs.
A lot of college football is designed plays, RPOs which is a 1 read play, and passing plays that cut the field in half.
If you’re asking a QB to do what they’re doing on Sunday you’re gonna have issues.
