True or false: big wins since 1/9/12 have felt hollow

Ever since the national championship game, we have had several big wins. #3 South Carolina in 2012, Florida in 2015, Auburn 2017 and Georgia this year. Maybe I’m wrong, but it feels like even these huge wins aren’t satisfactory until we beat bama. Saturday we need to get the monkey off our back. My body is ready.

No. They've just all been rendered moot after the Alabama game. LSU has had some great wins in that span.

they’re still big wins. The 2012 season was a good one and we had Bama beat.

LSU started to spiral downward in ‘13. The gut wrenching loss @ UGA. The beat down in Tuscaloosa but IMO the ‘14 loss in OT in Death Valley to Bama is what broke us.

i’d remove auburn ‘17 from this list.

yeah it was a really good win, but in grand scheme of things it was meaningless.
2 losses going in effectively eliminated us from anything that mattered before that game even started.

Those wins made the Bama game relevant in those years. It would have obviously still would've been a big game those years, but it wouldn't have had the same stakes.

I would disagree with this somewhat in that if we lose that game it would have been our 3rd loss of the year, and 2nd SEC West loss (after the State loss) and would have put the team and coaching staff into a tailspin.

The hotseat and haters of Coach O would have clammered for his removal right away, not unlike the late second loss to AU that did Coach Miles in.

I think that win was huge, if you put into context "when" it happened.

You are one of those fans that live in a perpetual state of unhappiness. I really wish we had fewer fans like you.

I feel sorry for you in that you have been unable to enjoy LSU football since 1/9/12. That's a long time. I hope you have a loving family and/or some exciting hobbies.

SC was ranked third, Ole Miss was unbeaten.

Just two off the top of my head that prove you false.

If you expect LSU to be Bama, well reality is it ain't happening for anyone

big wins are good, but we're aiming for championships. Without winning the West, those big wins do feel hollow.

We just dominated Georgia by 20pts in a game that was never really within reach for them. So no, not at all hollow.

We had that game and now losing 4 in a row, I think it put the pressure on even more to win for both coaches and players. That was the end.
